"cAIman" moves up to #5 and Dokuga moves up to #2 on the Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys list. Big move for cAIman, dethroning someone as stable as Zelgadis from the top 5! But, if you read about him in my BRAND NEW DOROHDORO SHRINE, I'm sure you'll agree he's pretty damn amazing. :D

March 2012

NEWS   03/31/12

"cAIman" enters the Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys list at #7! Give him a hand, everybody! Or a head. I think he might prefer a head... >_>; He's just endlessly fascinating to me and I'm growing to love him more and more. I had to drop Gilbert down to Runners Up, but that's a temporary position. It puts him at an equal chance with his brother Vincent to get back on the actual list. I just don't know which of them it will be, or when. Dokuga moves up a rank to #3, and Tetsujo (Dorohedoro) added to Honorable Mentions. Also, a major re-arrangement of the Favorite Pairings list.

Bitter Dreams, on the topic of "cAIman," added to Ramblings.

NEWS   02/05/12

Okay, I can't hold this off anymore. Dokuga has been moved to #4 on the Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys list. I love him so much. T_T I ran out of regular fanart so I started looking up moth pictures (because he has a moth form). Moths are so cute! They're like soft, cuddly night butterflies with bunny ear antennae! Does anyone know where to get a white or light gray moth plushie?!? I'm serious, e-mail me if you know where to find a moth plushie!! XD Oh gowd, this is getting pretty bad. Xelloss moved to #7. >.< I REGRET NOTHING!!!

Dorohedoro: Viz vs. Japanese Release comparison added to Ramblings.

NEWS   01/22/12

Observations About "Ai" added to Ramblings, and several people rearranged in the Dorohedoro Honorable Mentions section. For a long time I've been trying to decide in what order I like "Caiman," Risu, and Shin. I still don't really know. But I seem to like thinking and theorizing about "Caiman" the most, and I'm generally more interested in Risu's scenes than Shin's. Those two are deeper characters than Shin, too, imo. However, I like watching Shin fight the most... or do I? I love watching Risu and "Caiman" fight too. And Shin is such a fun character! If feels so wrong to have him at #3 (#4 if you count Dokuga). T_T But Risu's so damn cute and tortured! D: Oh well, they'll probably change around again at some point...

NEWS   01/06/12

Dorohedoro volume 16 was released in Japan a couple of months back, and I lost patience waiting for the translation, so I looked at the Japanese raw. To make a long story short, I'm now completely obsessed with Dorohedoro again in general, and Dokuga in particular. Actually, it only took this picture to get me re-obsessed with Dokuga, before I even saw 16, but 16 definitely cemented the obsession. I can't say why, since it involves a spoiler for those still waiting on the English translation, but yes, there was blood involved. I say once again, I love Dokuga for the content of his character, and not the color of his blood! Sure I only started noticing him after he got roughed up by Shin in volume 12, but nevermind that!

Dokuga is like fine tea. While the overbearing presence of the bolder, more prominent "black tea" characters eclipse him at first, Dokuga is like a green or oolong tea - more subtle, but with a richer complexity of flavor once you really start to savor it. On the surface he is calm, smart, and loyal, but after more re-reading and paying attention to details, you begin to notice how caring, considerate, sensitive, responsible, reliable, kind, humble, idealistic and adorably naive he is....... when he's not killing people... which he's really good at, by the way. ^^; But he's still much more reasonable in this than others, since he actually asks questions before attacking. Dokuga also tops my very short list of datable characters, which is quite an achievement! I'd love to have some tea with him out at some quiet spot in nature. I've even had several dreams about him, which is another rarity, and greatly strengthens my sense of connection to him as a character.

ANYWAY, I've moved Dorohedoro up to #3 on my Top 10 Anime/Manga Series list. Although my obsessions with Saint Seiya are more intense, Doro is still unquestionably better in quality. I've been hesitant to place Doro that high before since, despite its amazing story, I didn't feel as strong a personal connection to it, and so first wanted to see how it ended. But now, thanks to Dokuga and a deeper appreciation of the Doro world, it has earned this higher rank regardless of what happens. I have also added a new entry to my Favorite Pairings list, though it could hardly be called a "couple": "Ai" x Nikaido/Risu/Dokuga. Yes, it's as complicated as it sounds. It was a tough call to decide whether I liked them or Sam x Frodo better, but I settled on placing AxNRD at #8 because "Ai" wears a cap with a magic 8 ball, which corresponds to the number of his personalities. >_>;

And, of course, Dokuga is now on the Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys list. He was notoriously hard to rank, since he has qualities that resonate with Kurama, Zelgadis, Hiei, Gilbert, and Anotsu, and so could potentially play their "roles" on the list, placing him anywhere between #4 and #9. I put him at #7 to play it safe, plus that spot has an extra appreciation boost since "7" is one of my favorite numbers. There's so much politics, balancing, numerology, and "role"-playing that goes into ranking these characters, y'all have no idea. XD This puts Dokuga above Gilbert, and Vincent hasn't even made it on the list yet. D: (WHAAAT??) But I love Dokuga sooo much! (Above Gil??) I genuinely like him as a person and I feel good about this decision!! (ABOVE GIL?!?) Maybe he can be moved around later, but I really don't see him going anywhere but up. (What about Luffy??) I still like Luffy, he only got dropped to Runners Up! ^^; (And Ichigo?!?) We don't talk about Ichigo. =_=

New Ramblings added: Dorohedoro World. Cross Eyes vs. En's Cleaners added to Top 10 Anime/Manga Fights list.

NEWS   10/16/11

So I blew my Fall Break working on a Pandora Hearts web shrine. x_x I've wanted to make one for a long, long, long time, but I didn't know what material could be useful and unique enough to put there. But then, after a recent dramatic turn of events in the series, I've started noticing clues that were sprinkled throughout the art. Eventually I found more and more clues, and developed categories of symbols that Jun (the author) regularly uses. The interplay between them became steadily more elaborate, until interpretation became like reading Tarot cards! But every time I think I figure one thing out, more questions pop up. That's why the shrine is called Pandora's Box. Once you open it, it's virtually impossible to close! My brain is SO fried. Any time I see roses, crosses, or ribbons anywhere I freak out. XD Anyways, enjoy the fruits my insanity!

Oh yeah, this is also the first page I designed to be used with resolutions of 1000 pixels wide or higher. Since the content is so image-intensive and detail is so vital to preserve, there was no way around it. Does anyone use 800x600 anymore? ^^;;

NEWS   08/22/11

Well, this will probably be my last real update for a while since school is starting. So... Albafica (Saint Seiya: Lost Canvas), Gemini twins (Saint Seiya/Lost Canvas) added to Honorable Mentions. Also, Saint Seiya/Lost Canvas gets its very own Favorite Fights list! And there's 22 spots on it divided on 2 pages (it's the 11:11 list, hehe)!! Why 22? It just worked out that way. There are literally hundreds of fights in the Saint Seiya universe so honestly it's a miracle I could cut it down that much. And, since it's a list for 2 different series merged together (Saint Seiya and Lost Canvas), you could almost see it as top 11 lists for each. Indeed, whenever I reread Saint Seiya Episode G, there may be more, and I may actually split them into separate top lists. But, for now, it is what it is. And, of course, Saint Seiya gets the royal treatment, complete with fight ratings and associated songs!

NEWS   08/11/11

ZOMG! Shaka levels up to #3 on the Top 10 Anime/Manga Guys list!! :D He just means so much to me I can't even begin to explain. The way he struggled to deal with the suffering of the world as a kid, the way he found peace and expounded on the meaning of life before walking headlong into death to test himself, the wisdom and harmony he emanates... Shaka is actually able to calm me down when I get angry at the injustice in the world - which is really hard to do! To me he is the face of Buddha and is able to bring me back to my center. Today I found out the original name of Arayashiki, the 8th Sense that Shaka attained. In Sanskrit it is Alaya-vijnana, the store consciousness that is the foundation of the other 7 Senses, contains impressions of everything we have experienced, and is thereby the source of karma and rebirth. It's an important and fascinating concept for me and I think meditating on Shaka's character can help me understand it.

A year ago my obsession with Shaka prompted me to acquire a whole shelf of books about Buddhism because I thought it would be cheaper than getting his action figure (it wasn't). A year later I finally got his action figure (and Ikki's, and Misty's) and am very happy with it. I even made some action figure "porn" ahaha ^^;; which you can view here (takes a while to load but scroll down past the rest of my Saint Seiya spam). I'm also planning on collecting these 12 Gold Saints and making an altar for them where I can meditate and raise my Cosmo, ehehe.

Yes, Saint Seiya is spiritually inspirational to me on many levels, which is also why Saint Seiya finally bumped down Slayers on my Top 10 Anime/Manga Series list (D: O.O D:). I don't even know what to say about that turn of events except that Saint Seiya seems to have more consistent re-read/watch value for me, more raw elements that I'm drawn to (blood, violence, hot guys, death-transcending passion), and I could read a lot more into it thematically/philosophically. Mind you, I'd never recommend Saint Seiya a "good" series, just one that *I* insanely enjoy. XD Dorohedoro got bumped down to #5, and I doubt it'll budge from there until it's actually completed because there's just too many things it can get either really right or really wrong to know where it goes yet.

And who did Shaka knock down from the top 5? Hiei, *sigh*, which is not to lessen Hiei in any way because I LOVE Hiei A LOT. He had to fight Ikki for #6 spot, though. They're rather similar characters, really... both are arrogant, angsty, overpowered loners who only care about a select few. Both are badasses, but Hiei can also be shy and cute while Ikki compensates with even more hardcore badassery. Ikki wins this fight right now by a narrow margin, but it's still tense.

NEWS   07/27/11

Runaway Dream (Griffith Essay) updated with more text in Hawk of Light & Darkness, as well as a bonus Hawk Symbols page.

NEWS   07/24/11

Knights of the Zodiac updated with the two Gemini from Saint Seiya: Next Dimension, Leo Ilias from Saint Seiya: Lost Canvas, and two of Regulus' new attacks. Ilias and Regulus were also added to Honorable Mentions. Damn, if Ilias was around for longer than that one 3 chapter flashback, I'd probably like him more than Shaka. O.o;

NEWS   07/21/11

Ikki added to the Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys! Because, dammit, he deserves it. The mere mention of him managed to interrupt my interest in One Piece and triggered the resurgence of my Saint Seiya obsession. The Shaka vs Ikki fight was also moved up on the Top 10 Anime/Manga Fights list, because it's such an epic clash of paradigms: Shaka, who is a god/buddha and gets power from serenity and wisdom VS Ikki, who is an atheist that only believes in his own strength, and gets his power from will and passion. It's a duality that's very strong in myself so the yin yang harmony these two represent is very important to me.

NEWS   07/12/11

Luffy added to the Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys! Kanda was moved down to Runners Up to make room. I love Kanda, I love Kanda A LOT, but if his character gets no development past where he is now, he feels incomplete. Luffy, on the other hand, is relentlessly inspiring for me. Nikaido and Noi were moved to the Top 10 Anime/Manga Girls, and Yuruichi and Caska were dropped down to Honorable Mentions to make room. A few new characters were added to the Honorable Mentions: Nola (One Piece), Makie (Blade of the Immortal), Edward (Fullmetal Alchemist), Mustang (Fullmetal Alchemist), and Alphonse (Fullmetal Alchemist).

I've finally read Fullmetal Alchemist. It is very interesting to me thematically because it deals with the idea that "all is one." Now, if you spend time New Age spiritual communities, you'll find many of them believe that a realization of oneness with everything makes you incapable of harming others. That has not been the case, in my experience. It can just as easily open the door to a whole new world of abuse where others are power sources for you to exploit. Fullmetal Alchemist demonstrates one of example of this quite spectacularly. It's a valuable series for me thematically, and has the most profound depiction of oneness through the food chain that I've ever seen.

NEWS   07/04/11

I finally caught up with the One Piece manga. I feel so traumatized by Marineford. @_@ Incidentally, Marineford added to the Top 10 Epic Scenes in Anime/Manga. New One Piece characters have been added to the Honorable Mentions list: Ace, Shanks, Chopper, and Going Merry. And Luffy got moved above Zoro on there... which is a pretty big deal! Also, Yoshioka and Takuan from Vagabond have been removed from the list, since I just don't care about them anymore. Drizzt's Corner has been updated with 4 new books: Gauntlgrym, Neverwinter, The Sentinels, and Collected Stories. Thanks goes to Matthew for alerting me to do that!

Dorohedoro has moved to #4 on my Top 10 Anime/Manga Series List! Because I couldn't wait. I just like it too much!! ;_; Maybe this was rash and it'll move down later, but we'll see. Also, several characters from Vagabond have been added to Honorable Mentions: Sasaki, Seijuro, and Takuan. If you're interested in what I thought of Vagabond, you can read my review of it here, but I warn you that it is filled with sarcasm and annoyance.

NEWS   06/11/11

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 added to the Games section of the Dante Shrine, Tetsuo added to the Top 7 Anime/Manga Antagonists, and the People I Just Plain Hate List finally updated with Neo-Dante, Nero, and Light. Astonishingly, Naruto is still at #1. o.o

NEWS   06/08/11

Well, Pandora Hearts has finally toppled Berserk from its #1 place on my Top 10 Anime/Manga Series List. This is a very big deal for me, and has to do with a huge spike in personal resonance between Pandora Hearts and my own life. That's all I can really say about that. XD Also, the Houshin Engi series has been kicked off to make room for Dorohedoro coming in at #7.

I expect Dorohedoro to go a lot higher than this as more volumes come out. It is like Pandora Hearts crossed with Silent Hill and directed by Quentin Tarantino's and Tim Burton's lovechild, and I mean this in the best possible way. It is immensely atmospheric and creeped me out more than anything else I've read since it has a way of boring into my brain involuntarily and messing with my dreams. O.o While I don't have as strong a personal connection to it as I do with Pandora Hearts, it has something that Pandora Hearts lacks: buckets and geysers of delicious blood!! *_* It actually completes a thematic trinity with Berserk for me: Berserk (violence/blood, desire-driven universe) -> Pandora Hearts (desire driven universe, memory/identity) -> Dorohedoro (memory/identity, violence/blood) -> Berserk (violence/blood, desire-driven universe). They connect! I would rave more about it, but I'm actually paranoid of giving away any spoilers because the plot (which you start noticing around volume 8) is so crazy.

As can be expected, more characters have been added to the Honorable Mentions list. From Dorohedoro: Dokuga, Shin, "Caiman," Risu, En, Nikaido, Noi, Kikurage, Ebisu, and Haze. From Pandora Hearts: Leo. Pandora Hearts' Vincent was moved up to the Runners Up of the Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys List, Lotti jumped to number 3 of the Top 10 Anime/Manga Girls List, and Elliot got moved to #1 in Honorable Mentions. I also finally finished Death Note after dropping it 6 years ago, and no, it was not worth it. However, Mello was still added to Honorable Mentions. Elliot x Leo (Pandora Hearts) and Noi x Shin (Dorohedoro) have been added to the Favorite Pairings List.

January 2011

NEWS   01/14/11

There's finally a long-overdue restructuring of the Top 10 Anime/Manga Girls List. Yachiru and Shampoo have been dropped to Honorable Mentions in order to make room for Lottie (Pandora Hearts) and Sonia (Berserk). Reim (Pandora Hearts) and Echo (Pandora Hearts) have also been added to the Honorable Mentions, and Break x Reim have been added to the Favorite Pairings List. I put up a wallpaper of my favorite picture and scene from Pandora Hearts: Break with Intention of the Abyss (1920 x 1200), as well as a Chessboard & Abyss (1920 x 1200). These and other wallpapers are accessible in the Related Links section of characters featured in them.

As you could probably tell, I am still very much obsessed with Pandora Hearts. In fact, I'm reading the Russian translation of it now, which has much better quality scans than the English of most of the chapters. It's nice to read in Russian both because it helps me practice my Russian skills, and because the Russian language has levels of honorifics whereas the English language does not. Although it doesn't have as many levels as Japanese, it still gives the dialogue that subtle layer of relationships that we take for granted in English. For example, Break always talks to Reim in familiar terms, whereas Reim starts out talking to Break in honorifics and eventually transitions to familiar style. This shows both their relative rank, and the development of their relationship over time. Good stuff!

NEWS   12/23/10

So..... .... There was a huge upheaval in the Top 10 Anime/Manga Guys List... again. As well as the Top 10 Anime/Manga List. And the Best of the Best All-Stars List. Last time something like this happened was when Berserk rose above Slayers as my favorite series. Well now Pandora Hearts rose above Slayers, too, although still below Berserk. I thought this might happen eventually, but not so soon. But, well, now that it did... Zelgadis' #1 spot on the Top 10 Anime/Manga Guys List, which he has held since the founding of this website and years before, has been shaken. Break moves to #1, a twin to Griffith's #0. How did this happen? Oh, that would be one hell of a trip to explain, but I will say this: Full Lunar Eclipse. Perhaps this was a rash move; only time will tell, but I felt the need to do something drastic. A real paradigm shift - on the site, and inside myself. So there you go.

November 2010

NEWS   11/11/10

In case you were wondering why the lack of updates, I started Law School in this fall so it's sucking up all of my time. Still, major upheaval in the Top 10 Anime/Manga Guys List! Break and Gilbert have been added to the list at numbers 7 and 8 respectively. Now, you might be wondering to yourself, as I'm sure you've seen this happen several times already... how do characters who weren't even on the Runners Up suddenly jump straight onto the Top 10 List?? Basically the idea to put certain characters on there simmers in my head for a long while until I just can't resist anymore. Break and Gilbert I've been contemplating for many months. They've stood the test of time and I love them lots.

This also means that Lucifer and Manji got dropped down from the Top 10 List: Manji onto Runners Up and Lucifer down to Honorable Mentions. =/ This wasn't easy to do. Manji has been on the Top 10 since the beginning, and I love him to bits (literally). But the choice was between him and Anotsu, and Anotsu won. Lucifer... I do love Lucifer... but I love him in Angel Sanctuary as a concept more than a character. Since there were only 3 spots on Runners Up, either Lucifer or Soujirou had to go, and I wasn't prepared to lose Soujirou. Ikki was added to Runners Up in Lucifer's place. Ichigo and Sasuke also got dropped down to Honorable Mentions because, lets face it, they're never getting back on the Top 10.

In other news, Lord of the Rings Online is FREE TO PLAY! I'm Keramis on the Dwarrowdelf server if anybody cares. It's seriously the best MMORPG I've ever played and I need to add it to my favorite games list whenever I'm not feeling lazy.

Yes, I know about Devil May Cry 5, and no I will not be talking about it any time in the near future because I'm happily basking in denial. That said, the producers of this abomination should be raped in the ass by Eclipse Apostles.

July 2010

NEWS   07/26/10

Inspired by Akira, I have put together a Top 10 Epic Scenes in Anime/Manga list! This list has a ton more spoilers than usual, so don't look if you want want to know!! Also, the Top 10 Anime/Manga Fights list has been updated with two Shaka battles. :D

NEWS   07/24/10

Akira manga has been added to the Top 10 Anime/Manga List! I've been putting off reading this one for a while. Akira animated movie was what truly got me into anime back in the day. I remember watching it on TV and being in awe of so much graphic violence and death in an animated medium. I was completely in love... with the blood, the soundtrack, and of course the plot. Kaneda was probably my first anime crush.

I've seen the Akira manga in book stores before, but they looked so huge and intimidating that I stayed away. Then I kept running into people telling me how much better the manga is than the movie, and I stayed away because I was afraid it might ruin my love for the movie. But now, after probably 15 years, I finally caved in and read it. I'm very glad I did. Although the manga is certainly deeper and more intense than the movie, it didn't diminish my appreciation of the movie one bit. In fact, it probably strengthened my love for both mediums. The movie was written and directed by the mangaka himself, so it's interesting comparing the changes he made to his own work. The two are almost completely different stories!

As for the manga itself, I'm still breathless from the sheer epic-ness of the climax, and I finished it like three days ago! For those familiar with Berserk, its magnitude can rival the Eclipse, Albion, and Ganishka combined. For those that aren't familiar with Berserk, think 2012 movie. Tetsuo and Akira can do some crazy craaazy stuff! The ending also has a stronger emotional impact on a personal level, since Tetsuo's... you know... is a much more erratic, gradual process.

So, as to be expected, Tetsuo, Kaneda, Akira, Kei, and the Colonel have been added to Honorable Mentions. Unlike the movie, I ended up liking Tetsuo more than Kaneda in the manga, which was a pretty big surprise. I was even annoyed by Tetsuo in the beginning of the series, but his ensuing character development is downright spectacular. I also added 1920 x 1200 and 1366 x 768 size wallpapers for Akira himself. I have the 1920 one on my desktop computer and the 1366 one on my netbook right now. It's the first time I have complementary wallpapers.

NEWS   07/03/10

1920 x 1200 wallpapers added for Anotsu and Kanda on the Top 10 Anime/Manga Guys List, Alice on the Top 10 Anime/Manga Girls List, and Break, Gilbert, Vincent, and Jack/Oz in Honorable Mentions.

NEWS   07/02/10

News about Marvel vs. Capcom 3 up in the Dante Diary!! 1920 x 1200 wallpapers added for Shaka on the Top 10 Anime/Manga Guys List, and Ikki, Sisyphus, and Milo in Honorable Mentions. NEWS   06/13/10

The Drizzt's Corner updated with The Ghost King and The Shadowmask books. I haven't read the, but at least they're on the list now. I should really catch up on all these Drizzt books, but hey, whenever I do get around to it I'll have a whole lot to look forward to, right? Also, Sisyphus rose to #2 in Honorable Mentions. Right under Ikki! And I swear he's staying under Ikki. :P

NEWS   06/10/10

The Knights of the Zodiac web shrine has been updated with the Gold Saints from Next Dimension! The ones that have appeared so far: Aries Shion, Taurus Ox, Virgo Shijima, Libra Dohko, Capricorn Izou, and Pisces Cardinal. There's very little of Next Dimension out right now, so these Saints get smaller sections than the Saint Seiya and Lost Canvas Saints until I have enough content to write about them proper. Except, of course, Virgo. He got full graphics treatment. Because he's special. :3 Dohko and Shion already had full graphic sections, so I just updated those with Next Dimension content.

NEWS   06/08/10

Okay, it's finally finished. The thing that's been draining my sanity for the past few weeks. The Knights of the Zodiac web shrine to the Gold Saints of Saint Seiya! I had to re-watch parts of the anime and re-read parts of the manga to write up their bios and document their attacks, which amounted to me becoming very emotionally involved with every character. And that's fine, I love feeling strongly for characters, JUST NOT 25+ OF THEM AT ONCE!!! That right there is way past my emotional overload threshhold. >.< I started calling Sisyphus my boyfriend. >_> Hell, I started loving characters I never even cared about before... and then watched them DIE, AGAIN and AGAIN, in TRAGIC and PAINFUL ways! Oh poor, sweet Gold Saints, they fight so hard! So powerful, yet so fragile. I just want to hug all of them! T_T

Alas, I finished the shrine too late. The insanity had already taken hold and I officially started buying the English release of the Saint Seiya manga, horrible translation thought it is. But I can't take it anymore! I can't take not know what really happened! I MUST KNOW. And, dammit, I want more Episode G... so much... Oh well, I'll just have to be happy reading Next Dimension, and the re-reading/watching all the other Saint Seiya I have.

In related news, Saint Seiya has passed Yu Yu Hakusho on my Top 10 Anime/Manga Series List. A very, very impressive feat considering Yu Yu Hakusho has been unshakable for over a decade. In fact, right now, I like Saint Seiya more than Pandora Hearts, but I'll give Pandora Hearts a few more chapters before I do anything drastic. Also, Sisyphus has moved to #3 in Honorable Mentions and I like Shiryuu more than Hyoga now. Albafica has been replaced by Scorpio Milo/Kardia.

NEWS   05/13/10

Griffith Invictus, a post-Eclipse addendum to the essay Runaway Dream, has been added to the Griffith shrine.

NEWS   05/12/10

I haven't updated for a while, so sue me! Incidentally, I got into law school!! :D I also made a MyAnimeList profile, so if anyone cares, here it is.

A lot of favorites list updates! First of all, the
Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys list is undergoing an upheaval. Shaka/Asmita (Saint Seiya/Lost Canvas) jumps straight to #6! Soujirou gets dropped down to Runners Up, and Anotsu rises past Manji to come in at #9. Ichigo has also slipped off into Runners Up AND is taken down from Best of the Best All-Stars list! He is replaced on the latter by Kanda. Yes, Bleach is irritating me. In fact, Bleach is no longer on the Top 10 Anime/Manga Series list either. There's only so long that I can cling to the one good arc in the series and ignore the clusterfuck it's become. One Thousand and One Nights manhwa enters the list at #7! Mukuro is also dropped from the Top 10 Anime/Manga Girls list to Honorable Mentions as Integra (Hellsing) enters the list at #4! Shahryar x Sehara enter the Favorite Pairings List at #6.

As for the other
Honorable Mentions... from 1/2 Prince: Prince, Wicked, Guiliastes. From Berserk: Sonia. From Hellsing: Schrodinger, Alucard. From One Thousand and One Nights: Shahryar, Sehara, Ali, Maseru. From Shin Angyo Onshi: Munsu, Won Sul, Aji Tae. And last but certainly not least, from Saint Seiya Lost Canvas: Dohko, Sisyphus, Albafica. I have entered phase 2 of my Saint Seiya obsession and wow is it strong! I guess it's not surprising, considering the whole series is an endless parade prettyboys getting bloodied and broken. I love the Gold Saints so much!! Lost Canvas has a ton of Dohko fanservice, like the two times he spontaneously decides to fight without his breastplate for no apparent reason. Not that I'm complaining... but remember, kids, safety first! Always wear your armor into battle unless you want to get completely slashed up!!

I've also started the
Being Vegan section of the site. For now it just has my three essays about becoming vegan from the Ramblings page, so the link is confined to the section about me. But I do plan to expand it with more content eventually.

November 2009

NEWS   11/04/09

Lets all congratulate Griffith for finally getting his kingdom of Falconia as of chapter 307, which coincides with the 20th Anniversary of Berserk!! You go, baby!

Pandora Hearts has been moved up to #3 on the Top 10 Anime/Manga Series list! On an equally if not more shocking note, Kanda has breached the top 5 on my Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys list, bumping Ichigo down to #6!!

How did this happen? In my assessment of how much I love a character, perhaps the biggest indicator is what my obsession with them has driven me to do. Dante made me dress up as his brother and kiss random guys at anime conventions, Griffith made me write a ridiculously long essay analyzing his psychology, Ichigo has several music videos praising his awesomeness, so on and so forth. This is how my obsession usually manifests: web shines, essays, music videos, and (in extreme cases) cosplay. Kanda has yet to make me do any of these things. Indeed, my lack of creative expression in his name is quite baffling to me. And yet he drives me absolutely crazy.

It then hit me that my Kanda obsession manifests in much more bizarre ways. These include screencapping most of the D.Gray-Man (DGM) anime, splicing together several episodes into one that features only Kanda. splicing together several manga chapters into one that features only Kanda, getting an emotional high from sniffing lotus oil, and even culinary ventures making tempura lotus root. On top of that, I seek to collect every single Kanda pic on the web. Indeed, Kanda has not one but two picture folders on my computer! (Sure Dante's general "Devil May Cry" folder is a virtual labyrinth of multimedia folders but... Dante is Dante.) Also, like Dante, Kanda is the only one to whom I have dedicated a physical binder filled with picture and fanfiction printouts. So... yeah... before this gets too creepy, suffice to say that Kanda does indeed have a lot of obsessive behavior associated with him from my end which more than qualifies him for his promotion.

Why now? Well, DGM just came out of hiatus with a bang. Chapter 188 fulfilled virtually every Kanda fantasy I ever had and rendered me incoherent from excitement for several days. I used to joke that the reason Kanda's backstory was withheld for so long was because they were working hard to make it epic. I never expected to be right. Kanda's backstory is more detailed than perhaps any of the other characters' and of utmost importance to the endgame of DGM! The person Kanda has been talking about through the whole series, the one he couldn't die before finding again, was finally revealed! My Kanda obsession has stood the test of time, and now that he has a full-fledged backstory (at least by DGM standards), he can finally take his rightful place among the "Immortals" of the top 5.

Which leaves us with Ichigo. Poor, poor Ichigo. His meteoric rise is only matched by his unimaginable fall. To be perfectly honest, I don't care about him at all right now. Bleach is getting more and more boring every chapter and reading it feels like a chore. However, I can't simply disregard how much I cared about Ichigo during the Soul Society arc and probably still would if I watch it again. This is why I didn't drop him lower than #6. :P All in all, Kanda should really be higher and Ichigo should really be lower, but I leave them where they are for now as a tenuous waiting period.

NEWS   09/27/09

Okay, I've been tweaking the Pandora Hearts music video all week, and I think I finally got all the subtitles blurred. So here it is again, the completely completed Pandora Hearts Music Video! I'm having issues with MegaVideo so the streamable version of the video isn't updated yet, but the Download is. To celebrate, I have added Elliot (Pandora Hearts) to the Honorable Mentions. ^_^

NEWS   09/21/09

Yes, I have made a Pandora Hearts Music Video. If you didn't see this coming, you must not have been following my site for very long.

Happy Mabon!! The countdown on the Beliefs page changed to Samhain.

NEWS   09/14/09

Even more people added to Honorable Mentions! And, actually, the S-Z section was further split into S-T and U-Z. Sure S-T looks a little lonely right now, but I anticipate people from Samurai Deeper Kyo there sometime in the future. Okay! So yeah, now that I split up the Honorable Mentions, I figured I could put in even more minor focuses up! So, without further adieu, the parade of characters with ranks 2-3: Rudou (Mephisto), Sora (.hack//SIGN), Balmung (.hack//SIGN), Parn (Record of Lodoss War), Deedlit (Record of Lodoss War), Amelia (Slayers), Sunako (Wallflower), Hisoka (Yami no Matsuei). Also, Alice (Pandora Hearts) has been added to the Top 10 Anime/Manga Girls list! (Rei from Evangelion dropped to Honorable Mentions). Blame the Pandora Hearts soundtrack for me remembering .hack//SIGN characters.

I actually was thinking of adding more people, almost thinking of getting a character to represent most of the series I could remember watching/reading... but... that didn't quite work. Some who didn't make the cut this time around: Chrono (Chrono Crusade), Larva (Vampire Princess Miyu), Dilandau (Escaflowne), Ryoko (Tenchi Muyo)... and then I remembered Aquarion and Lost Universe and Ruin Explorers and Outlaw Star and Ah! My Goddess and D.N.Angel and... and..... and then my brain asploded. >.< So, for the sake of my sanity, characters will only make it onto the Honorable Mentions when I actually re-watch/read their series and can write a profile for them without referencing Wikipedia. The Record of Lodoss War entries are bad enough as it is.

NEWS   09/07/09

More people added to Honorable Mentions! As a little bit of reparation for Bleach, I have added Ulquiorra. Then I remembered that I completely forgot to update the list with characters from Vinland Saga! So Askeladd, Bjorn, and Thorfinn were added. I find it kinda funny that 3 out of the 4 people added are dead. Also, Scorpio and Leo of Saint Seiya have been dropped. Sorry. :(

In other news, my interest in Pandora Hearts has officially reached "dangerous" proportions. Meaning, it might climb higher than #5 ont he Top 10 Anime/Manga list and become a real threat to my high ranking series. This is because I finally realized why I'm so attracted to the plot. The issue of past life memory recovery is one very, very close to my heart. Pandora Hearts revolves around such vital points as why we forget past lives, how remembering can change who we are now, why half-remembered memories are dangerous, and how new layers of memory can change your entire perspective on an incident. On top of that, the karmic relationships that develop between characters there are absolutely fascinating! This puts the plot on a very personal, relatable level to me that I can find oceans of depth in. It also puts it on a level where my objective judgment of its merits is blurred by my closeness to the subject matter. We'll see what happens... O.o;;

NEWS   09/06/09

Hey look a'that! Isn't that a funny looking date?

Okay, so I've been looking for something to distract me from D.Gray-Man manga's haitus. I first tried Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler). It was enjoyable... for the most part (they had an entire story arc about a curry cookoff... a CURRY COOKOFF!!! *tears hair out*)... but it didn't quite have the effect I wanted. Then I went to Bubonicon's anime room since they were showing a Kuroshitsuji episode, and stayed for the next thing they showed, which happened to be Pandora Hearts. I have never heard of Pandora Hearts, and in that first episode I didn't really find any character to latch onto, but I was intrigued by the plot. The plot!! O.o That hasn't happened in a long, looong time. Normally I have to lock onto a character first, and then develop an interest in the plot somewhere along the way because I care about what happens to the character.

So, I go home, and look up the series. Start watching it. And DANG!! Not only is the plot awesome, but so are the characters! It's like Slayers characters were warped and thrown into a D.Gray-Man universe with a dash of .hack//Sign. But the plot is deep. Deep enough to provide me with hours of speculation. And despite the fact that they remind me of Slayers, the characters are very unique. So yeah, I'm too dazed from writing character descriptions to properly convey how much I love Pandora Hearts, but I can say I highly recommend it!

So, first thing's first. Pandora Hearts has shot all the way up to #5 on my Top 10 Anime/Manga Seris list, finally dropping Naruto! That's higher than Bleach! And much as I love Bleach's Soul Society arc, I can't keep making excuses for the 200+ chapters of crap that's mounting up upon it. The Top 8 Anime Movies list has been updated with Sword of the Stranger at #5 and Paprika at #8! And of course the Honorable Mentions list got a wave of updates. From Pandora Hearts we have: Gilbert, Xerxes, Alice, Vincent, Cheshire, and Jack/Oz. From Kuroshitsuji we have: Sebastian and Soma. I actually like more people in Kuroshitsuji, including Lau, the Undertaker, Snake, and Grell, but when the prospect of looking for their pictures annoyed me I figured they probably shouldn't be on the list. ^^; Oh, and a bunch of Bleach characters got hacked off, too, 'cause I just don't care about them anymore (Hanatarou, Toushirou, Shunsui). XD

MID-DAY EDIT: Okay, the entire Honorable Mentions list has been REVAMPED!! It is now divided into several more easily-digestible pages of A-C, D-F, G-K, L-R, and S-Z. Also, even though Kanda ultimately won the Battle of the Emos for a spot on the Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys list, Sasuke is still at the top of the Runners Up and has earned a more recent profile picture. To continue my Bleach-bashing rampage, Renji has been dropped back down to Honorable Mentions and Anotsu (Blade of the Immortal) replaced him in Runners Up. Urahara still hanging on for dear life.

August 2009

NEWS   08/17/09

Okay, it finally happened. Kanda has officially thrown Sasuke off the Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys List.

This has been a long time in the making, but I couldn't deny it anymore. There's just something about Kanda that drives me absolutely orgasmic. Not in any way that rivals my tactile feelings for Dante, but in a beautiful way all its own. Kanda is the epitome of my favorite character archetype: lethal, cold, calm, angsty loner. He is simply perfect in every conceivable way, with the added bonuses of bleeding, long hair, dual wield, and katanas. The only flaw he has is not his fault, and that's an incomplete backstory that's on the verge of being unraveled. I cannot possibly overemphasize how maddeningly intoxicating his combination of personality/physical traits is for me.

So, D.Gray-Man (DGM) has been on haitus for a while. The last time it stopped, it cut off in the middle of Kanda's flashbacks about his past. I was quite pissed, but managed to refrain myself from breaking my monitor. Now there was news that DGM would be back with a 50 page chapter. Indeed, it was. Kanda was present for 2 of the 50+ pages, looking obscenely hot as usual, but I told myself "that's okay, he'll be around more next chapter." That is, until I reached the last page, where I discovered the next chapter was three months away!! WTF!!! DGM is "back"?? More like "DGM punches you in the face and runs away"!!! The fact that the last we see of Kanda is getting jumped by a guy with mind powers saying "Your brain, we'll be using it for our party" REALLY does not help me!!

I guess the only thing I can do to cope is drink pomegranate juice and smell lotus oil.

(Also, Bleach, and consequentially Ichigo, isn't doing that hot. Both Bleach and Ichigo got dropped to #5.)

NEWS   08/16/09

Yes, I know, no updates for a while... Sorry. ~_~;;

I've been trying to write a new book... veeerryyy slooowwwlyy. But I did take a break from writing to make a Griffith outfit! I'm ecstatic about it!! =D

I never thought I'd be able to cosplay Griffith since I'm not willing to work with metal (armor) yet, but I finally found a cloth outfit of his that I really like. I made his coat, shirt, undershirt, boots (well, sneaker ornaments), bought pants, a belt, a wig, some long socks that you can't even see, and a wine glass, lol. It's very hot. No, really, I had to turn the AC down to 60F to take these pictures. I can see why he wore it in the winter! But I'm so, sooo happy to finally have a Griffith outfit. It's pretty complicated and took over a week to make, but it was so worth it. *_* It felt like a lot of pressure because I kept myself to a standard of assuming I'm making it for him - to wear. Like I was some tailor in the olden days (and I sew by hand, so I may as well be) commissioned to make clothes for the White Phoenix General himself! Too weird? Oh well, it's motivation.

Also, tentacle monsters are raining down from the sky, and demons are living in harmony with humans. March 2009

NEWS   03/31/09

Okay, I can't take Griffith being below Ichigo anymore. Ichigo has officially been demoted to #3 on the Top 10 Anime/Manga Guys List. I guess the final straw came when Ichigo just got an upgrade to his Hollow form and it did nothing for me. It wasn't an easy decision to make, but there is no debate that I like Griffith more than Ichigo, so it had to be done.

*deep breath*

Also, 3 more things added to The Saint Seiya Drinking Game. ^_^

NEWS   03/30/09

Oh, where to begin? It all started when my Kurama (Yu Yu Hakusho) obsession resurfaced. It was unbearably strong and I declared it too dangerous to indulge in during college. So I decided to watch something safe and manageable to distract myself from Kurama and be sane again: Saint Seiya! And at first that seemed to be working out great, but then something happened I did not expect. I became obsessed with Saint Seiya, but by the time I realized it, it was too late. XD So I watched all of Saint Seiya TV series, OVAs, movies, and am reading Saint Seiya: Lost Canvas now. It's a frikkin bishounen goldmine!! Love it. ^____^

Shaka and Ikki are my favorites in it, closely followed by Mu. Now, Shaka... Shaka's something else. I've never seen a character with his fighting style before. At least, if I did, they weren't pretty enough to make me notice. And Shaka's absolutely gorgeous... and graceful, and shiny, and focused, and god-like, and... errm... anyway. ^^; Due to the considerable lack of side character development in Saint Seiya, I project qualities onto Shaka he doesn't even have! XD Most notably, I project onto him my admiration for Buddha. At one point I debated between getting a Shaka action figure or books on Buddhism. I picked books on Buddhism because I figured it'd be cheaper. I have since accumulated a respectable Buddhist library and, in hindsight, it would've been much cheaper to get the action figure. :P But nowhere near as productive! I'm meditating a lot more now. Thanks Shaka!! =D

Then I ran out of Saint Seiya. Oh, what to do, what to do?? Shaka->Shaka with black hair->KANDA!! My pretty, pretty Kanda. He's such an ass, I love him. Sometimes I just want to go back through the manga, pick out all the mean/antisocial things Kanda ever did and make a web shrine to them. *_* Did I ever mention how perfect Kanda is? Because he is. He really, really is. He's so unbelievably perfect it makes me cry. ;_; .....*cries*...... If anybody can kick Sasuke off my Top 10 Anime/Manga Guys List, it'd be him. (It's the Battle of the Emos!!) And I'd do it, too, but I'm also very loyal to Sasuke and really don't want to budge him without giving him a fair chance. Meaning, I'd have to catch up on about 300 chapters of Naruto manga... which I would love to do, except for the fact that I really, truly, utterly despise Naruto as a character. Words cannot begin to describe the kind of averse reaction he elicits in me. >.< Yet Kanda is steadily gaining on Sasuke. Can he get strong enough to knock him off the list without me reading Naruto? Too soon to tell.

So, wait, what's the point of all this?? Oh yes, UPDATES!! Saint Seiya and D.Gray-Man (finally) added to the Top 10 Anime/Manga List. X/1999 and Inu Yasha got dropped. I have put up The Saint Seiya Drinking Game! (Not recommended for those with low tolerance for alcohol as it is guaranteed to get you drunk in 3 episodes or less.) New additions to the Honorable Mentions: Road Kamelot (D.Gray-Man), Shaka (Saint Seiya), Ikki (Saint Seiya), Mu (Saint Seiya), Hyoga (Saint Seiya), Shiryu (Saint Seiya), Milo (Saint Seiya), Aiolia (Saint Seiya), Shun (Saint Seiya), Misty (Saint Seiya), Nishi (Gantz), Katou (Gantz), Vegeta (DBZ), Trunks (DBZ), Piccolo (DBZ). Also, a few people got promoted or demoted in Rank, but I doubt anyone will notice or care (hint: Tyki got promoted from Rank 3 to Rank 4! Go Tyki!)

February 2009

NEWS   02/17/09

Okay... not really an update. I just want to announce that Griffith has moved up to #2 and Kurama moved down to #3 on my Top 10 Anime/Manga Guys List. I don't know why I even announce it. It's a meaningless shift, really... it has nothing to do with demoting Kurama and promoting Griffith and much more to do with me wanting to have Kurama adjacent to Hiei again. Those in the Immortals category are practically tied anyway, so moving them around doesn't do much. At the same time, the Transcendent & Immortals categories are really messed up right now. If I had to be brutally honest with myself, Dante, Griffith, and Kurama are my ultimate trinity of favorite characters, so having Griffith and Kurama be ranked #2 and #3 has caused me much mental dissonance for quite some time. But I'm also not willing to budge Ichigo and Zelgadis... or am I? Yep, it's a mess. I don't know why I even bring it up... it's not like anybody besides myself cares about the fine points of my favorites lists... but it's my website and I can ramble if I want to! :P

NEWS   02/03/09

Soo... I've been obsessed with Lord of the Rings and all things Tolkien-related. Watched the extended edition movies at least 3 times in a row, read the novel again at a rate of over 100 pages a day, am finishing up The Hobbit now and excited to start reading The Silmarillion.

I have always respected Tolkien for his meticulous world-creation, but I gotta admit I hated the LotR books the first time I read them. They were slow (it takes Frodo like 150 pages to get out of the Shire), with an agonizing amount of description, very little action (Helm's Deep is one chapter long) and even less elves (I had severe elven tunnel vision at the time). But now my focus has changed. I'm quite happy reading about hobbits, I'm in love with his world so am fascinated by the descriptions, and Legolas has dropped off my list of favorite characters. In fact, my favorite characters are now Frodo and Sam, as you should be able to tell by the updated Top 7 Book Guys list. Or, I should say, Frodo AND Sam, and they now have the respectable rank of #4 on my Favorite Pairings List. That list now also has a rating system.

I have made a new music video!! This is my first full length (over 3 minutes) music video in over a year! It is called "2 Hobbits 1 Ring" and chronicles the storyline of Gollum, Frodo, and Sam in the Lord of the Rings movies. I've wanted to make an LotR video for the longest time, but couldn't find the right song. Then one day I was listening to NIN's "(Bite) The Hand That Feeds" and it hit me like a bolt of lightning. I'm really happy with the video, as I think it captures the power struggle over the ring and, of course, the hand-biting. :P I have also finally created My Favorite Music Videos list, featuring the top videos that I admire but had nothing to do with.

New Wallpapers are up! Five pictures from White Sands National Park in the Deserts section, and one of Cenote Azul in Miscellaneous. I also updated Drizzt's Corner with the latest book releases (not counting the comics). Okie!! So... there's been no updates for a while. I know. I'm sorry. I was very busy working on the 2008 national USA election!! Even got attacked by a huge dog. I'm very happy about it now that I'm reasonably sure I don't have rabies. Anyway, lets just say I was on the winning team, heheheheh. I really should write a blog about it, but in case I don't, you'll just have to make do with this. So, on to actual updates!! The Tak Sakaguchi shrine has finally been updated with stuff on "Sakigake!! Otokojuku," including review/screencaps and an updated biography. The delay on this was simply inexcusable. I mean, good gods, I've had the movie for months!! But now that I have more free time (and finally figured out how unstuck my DVD-rom), it's up, so there. Also, I really need to somehow break up the biography page. It's getting very lengthy. The countdown on the Beliefs page has been changed to Yule, and news from the month of August has been moved to the Old News page. Movies page still in hiatus. XD No, I haven't stopped watching movies. I just stopped writing about them (unless they involve Tak Sakaguchi). ^_^;

NEWS   05/03/08

I would like to congratulate Griffith for managing to drop Drizzt from my Best of the Best All-Stars list! This is insanely hard to do, but Griffith is used to impossible odds. It was a very painful decision. I obviously still love Drizzt, but him officially hooking up with Catti-Brie and going pure goody-two-shoes is not a favorable development. And could he live up to Griffith's complexity and personal significance for me? *sigh* Sadly no... no way in hell. So I guess, by sacrificing Drizzt, Griffith has finally joined my God Hand! :P

I noticed some pictures in the Ichigo Trinity shrine weren't working, so I fixed those. It's funny, I was pretty much ready to give up on the Kaien reincarnation theory (NOT on the indwelling Hollow theory) after the Aaroniro incident, but recent developments in the manga make me think it might just be validated soon! Haha, well, I won't get my hopes up, but we shall see...

!!Happy Earth Day!! A Top 10 Anime/Manga Fights List finally added to the Anime page!! Kanda (D.Gray-Man), Lavi (D.Gray-Man), Tyki (D.Gray-Man), and Luffy (One Piece) added to Honorable Mentions! Zoro (One Piece) got a better bio.

I also managed to upload the 369 screencaps (+1 wallpaper) of Kanda that I took, and spliced together episodes 77, 78, and 79 of D.Gray-Man into one uninterrupted Kanda vs Skin fight! (right click and "save as") Together they make up 400mb, which is like half the rest of my website. O.o Go Kanda!! XD I'd talk more about him but, then I'd drool all over my keyboard and/or short-circuit the computer and it wouldn't be pretty. Best just watch for yourself. ^____^

Umm okay... CORRECTION!! Kamui (X/1999) and Aya (Weiss Kreuz) have been moved to the Honorable Mentions list, and Kanda has been moved to Runners Up on the Top 10 Manga/Anime Guys List! Geez, it's barely been half a day and he already got a promotion. Kamui was dropped because I haven't been into X/1999 in a very long time and I doubt I will be any time soon, and Aya because Kanda fulfills the beautiful, disciplined, katana-wielding swordsman archetype even better than he does. God help either Sasuke or Manji if Kanda gets a decent backstory. Also, Setsuna (Angel Sanctuary) has been dropped from Honorable Mentions altogether because, well, I don't know what he was doing there in the first place... O.o

NEWS   04/12/08

My Guestbook has inexplicably died. I suspect this has something to do with my host revamping all the features, but the fact is, I have no backup of the Guestbook, so all the entries are gone. I'm sorry. :(  However, the new Guestbook is now up and running, so please re-sign it! ^_^;;

I love Heroes... and not just because it's a great show with fun characters. I want to write a ramblings about why I love it, but the feelings are so overwhelming that I can't begin to put them into words. Like K-Pax and Sunshine, it reminded me of who I am and why I'm here. Unlike K-Pax and Sunshine, it helped me resolve a lot of my bitterness and loss of hope towards humanity. I don't want to destroy (2/3rds-3/4ths of) them anymore! Be grateful, Earthlings!! ...It's a pretty big deal, and has given me a less cynical reason to live. (Unless in the 3rd season they put in a really evil cliffhanger and make me wait five weeks to see the next episode... then I might start contemplating destroying humans again. :P)

So yeah, the Top 10 TV Shows List has been updated with Heroes, X-Files, Big Bang Theory, and Roar. I also noticed that since I rearranged files on my Dante shrine, A LOT of the image links broke. Wow, that's embarrassing. FIXED!! News for the month of March '08 moved to the Old News page.

The Blood Fetish shrine is now updated with stuff on Devil May Cry 4!! A review of Devil May Cry 4 added to the Games page! The Mission Highlights for DMC4 is up! Boss strategy for Bael/Dagon is up! The soundtrack for DMC4 added to the Music page! A new music video, "Dante > Nero," added to the Tribute page (and the generic Videos page)! The Looks page updated with a new picture and description for DMC4 Dante! DMC4 Strategy Guide added to the Books page! I'd do this all sooner but I was too busy playing. :P Funny, the theme song for DMC4 is currently my #1 Vergil x Dante/Dante x Vergil song. I think the lyrics are perfect for them!

The countdown on the Beliefs page changed to Ostara. News for the month of January '08 moved to the Old News page.

NEWS   01/07/08
A page for the movie Tebana Sankichi added to the Tak Sakaguchi shrine, and the Biography page updated with stuff about Tebana Sankichi (which is quite a bit of stuff considering it was shot over a period of 7 years)!

NEWS   01/04/08
Well Happy 2008!! I'm celebrating by moving to Albuquerque, heheheh. I also got a soymilk maker machine with which I can make fresh soymilk, tofu, and okara for sooo much cheaper than in stores! I swear, a months' supply of soybeans for all the milk, tofu, and okara I could possibly want costs less than half the price of a carton of Silk soymilk. I looove making tofu!!OK, now for the real updates! A page for the movie Yo-Yo Girl Cop added to the Tak Sakaguchi shrine! Finally the search words "Tak Sakaguchi" have overtaken "Noob Saibot" for the most hits to my site! Which is nice... because... I have nothing about Noob Saibot on my site. o.o I still have no clue why it keeps getting so much hits from that. >.< Also, Tak Sakaguchi's Official MySpace page has been added to the Movie Links! He sure knows how to post pictures!! *_* I tried adding him to my MySpace... we'll see how it goes. :P I've already started practicing my pickup line: "Kono sekai ga owaru toki, watashi wa Sakaguchi-sama wo tasukedasu!" I also found a nice growing vegan community called VeganAdam, so a link for that has been added, as well.News from December of '07 has been moved to the Old News page.

NEWS   12/24/07

Happy Yule! Happy Full Moon!!

A shrine to Fukki (Taikoubou) from Houshin Engi is now up: The Many Faces of Fukki! Likewise, two years after getting kicked off the Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys List, Fukki makes a triumphant return and re-claims his old rank of #6! It was a long battle between him and Youzen, but Fukki took a quantum leap in the last few volumes of Houshin Engi manga. I still love Youzen bunches, of course... especially after finding out he has a Youkai form! (Anime: getting demons laid since the 1980's) Youzen and Taiitsu Shinjin added to the Honorable Mentions list, and Youzen gets props for being the second person on my lists who actually qualifies as boyfriend material (the other one being Kurama). Unfortunately, Fukki's ascent also meant somebody had to be taken off the Top 10 List, and that somebody was Renji. He is now back in the Runners Up list, with new dialogue!

The countdown on the Beliefs page was changed to Imbolc.

NEWS   12/04/07

Two more characters added to the Honorable Mentions list: Zodd (Berserk) and Byakuya (Bleach). Added a Standardized Rating System for the Top 10 Anime/Manga List and changed ratings accordingly.

NEWS   12/03/07

The Honorable Mentions list is now expanded to include females! Added: Slan (Berserk), Sango (Inu Yasha), Botan (Yu Yu Hakusho), Mad Hatter (Angel Sanctuary), and Haku (Naruto)... Err, does Haku count as a girl? A few other descriptions and ratings tweaked.

NEWS   12/02/07

Made a lot of changes to the anime lists. I now acknowledge Griffith (Berserk) as a conscious God Hand, so his power rating on the Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys List has been raised to 5. The Honorable Mentions are now in alphabetical order, with 3 new additions: Serpico (Berserk), Guts (Berserk), and Soubi (Loveless). The Top 8 Anime/Manga Girls List is now the Top 10 Anime/Manga Girls List with the additions of Schierke (Berserk), and Rei (Evangelion). Jeez, Berserk is just dominating, isn't it. XD It has overtaken Yu Yu Hakusho for the #3 spot on the Top 10 Anime/Manga List, hitting the glass ceiling that is Bleach and Slayers. Going any farther is... highly improbable. That list now also has its own rating system for shows, which is bound to shift around as I re-watch shows. News from the month of November '07 moved to the Old News page.

November 2007

NEWS   11/21/07

I felt reeeally bad about making Hiei #5, and Kurama reeeally didn't like being so far away from him... so Hiei's #4 now and Xelloss got dropped to #5 on the Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys List. You gotta put up more of a fight, Xelloss!! XD (hmm... I don't think he cares >_>) They're all very close... Griffith, Xelloss and Hiei, that is. Kurama's still not happy, though. He wants Hiei at #3. I guess I'll have to wait and see if Hiei migrates again.

Griffith x Guts added as #3 on the Favorite Pairings List and I've been tweaking the Griffith shrine here and there. Now that I acknowledge Femto as sorta kinda Griffith, does that mean I should tweak Griffith's Power rating to "godlike" and Blood rating to "invulnerable"? That would make him a perfect 5... just like Lucifer.

Lucifer and Griffith have been fighting for the same rank on my list for a long, long time. That's because up until very recently, they had identical roles in my head: that of "Ice King." Now Lucifer retains Ice King, but Griffith has drifted away from Lucifer and developed his own identity: that of "Dreamer." This is why Griffith made such a sudden jump. Ironically, Griffith's rise and fall is more Lucifer than Lucifer is.

NEWS   11/19/07

*siiigh* Okay, after two months of work, the Griffith shrine is finally done!!.The Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys List is in utter chaos!! Soujirou has dropped out of his #5 spot among the Immortals, down to #7, Xelloss dropped from #2 to #4 (he'll probably jump up again whenever I watch Slayers Next), Hiei dropped from #4 to #5, Kurama rose from #3 to #2, and GRIFFITH rose from #7 to #3! Griffith trumping Xelloss!? What is the world coming to?? But I figured if I've worked on Griffith's shrine this hard for this long, he deserved it.

Also, I know I said I'd have Sunshine screencaps, but I don't think I'll be getting around to taking more of those anytime soon... because: 1) Sunshine Fan already has a huge screencap gallery up and I doubt I can add much to it, 2) no mounting pressure for me to replace the Music Videos page now that I host my own files, and 3) after the Griffith shrine, I don't want to deal with editing more pictures for a whiiile.

NEWS   11/08/07

Well, I finally upgraded my site to a ton more storage space and bandwidth. This means that the Sunshine shrine's Music Video page doesn't have to come down! I can host the videos on my own site!! This also goes for all the music videos on the regular Videos page and on the Dante shrine's Tribute page! =D So all of you who didn't want to get an account with AnimeMusicVideos.org can now direct download the videos. Huzzah!! I'm pretty sure my 3,000GB worth of bandwidth can handle it, hehehe. But we shall see.

I also started screencapping Sunshine because I thought it would be faster to get that out of the way before concentrating on Griffith. When I had 100 screencaps after 15 minutes of footage, I knew I was in trouble. Not sure if I'll finish that or work on Griffith, but suffice to say, when I'm done with Sunshine, the gallery will be rather large.

NEWS   11/07/07

OK, I didn't update for a while again... ehehehe. ^_^;; Umm... happy late Samhain!! XD I sacrificed a pomegranate and bathed my new Behelit in its blood.

As for why the lack of updates? Lotta things going on. I got accepted to University of New Mexico for Astrophysics, been reviewing all the math I know, my house has been turned upside down thanks to remodeling, then there's the Travel business that... wasn't doing as well as I wanted it to, and when I go back to college in January I won't have time for it anymore. So screw it! Back to Plan A!! My long-planned idea for a Tarot reading business that never quite got off the ground - UNTIL NOW!

BEHOLD!! The purple button on your right that says "TAROT" now points to my brand new Tarot reading/information website! Yes, Twilight Visions Tarot is now up and running! (after 6 hours of being on hold with IPowerweb tech support... no, seriously... 2 hours for Tech Support, 4 hours for Billing) Didn't know I do Tarot? Well SURPRISE!! I've been reading Tarot for over 10 years. Never had a Tarot reading before? Here's your chance!

Whew... Now that that's done I can get back to writing my gargantuan Griffith essay that's been kicking my ass for several weeks now. And once that's done, be prepared for a shake up of the Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys List that will SHOCK you!! Or at least will shock me. Here's a hint: Berserk is now #4 on my Top 10 Anime/Manga Series List, and it's not because of Gutts. At some point I'll also need to screencap Sunshine to replace the non-working Sunshine Music Videos page with an image gallery. The regular Movies page will be in hiatus until everything else gets taken care of. Meanwhile, the countdown on the Beliefs page has been changed to Yule, and news from the month of September '07 has been moved to the Old News page.

In case you were wondering why I have no updates about the Devil May Cry anime, it's because I HATED IT... A LOT... and am in denial. Still, two new Figures added, the Anime section of the Movies page has been updated, and a section for Fanime added to the Voices page of the Blood Fetish shrine! I also updated Drizzt's Corner with the new Orc King book (that I haven't read yet XD) and a couple of new comics. Happy 20th Anniversary Drizzt!!

NEWS   09/17/07

So yeah... I didn't update for a while. Was too busy obsessing over Sunshine, astrophysics, solar energy, and generally reevaluating what I want to do with my life. But I do have something to show for the blackout: a brand new shrine to Sunshine!! Featuring an even more expanded "To Touch A God" essay, hehehe. A new music video added to the Videos page: Stellar Love Song!! Sunshine also pulled an Ichigo and is now #0 on my Top "10" Movies List! Besides that, countdowns for The Seeker, Beowulf, and Enchanted added to Movie Watch, reviews of Shoot 'Em Up, War, and Stardust added to New & Now, and old reviews moved to the Reviews/Store page. News from the month of August '07 has been moved to the Old News page.

But the biggest news is that I finally have my own business started, which hopefully explains the lack of updates. I've had a "Store" button in the right column ever since my site's inception, which was utterly useless, since I never put up a store. That button is now changed to the purple "TRAVEL" button, and leads to my business website. As anyone who's been following my site knows, and as my Wallpapers page well attests to, I looove to travel. It keeps me sane since I can't be stuck in one place for any length of time. Unfortunately, traveling is @%$# expensive, which is why this business is a godsend for me! I can now travel anywhere I want at wholesale prices, paying only processing fees, taxes, and amenities. And I can share the joy, since I now sell these lifetime travel memberships! I also help new business members get started doing what I do.

I even made this nifty ad:
Greetings, Earthlings!

And this nifty ad!

So yeah, lol... check it out, you just might like it. And if you do, give me a call! ^_~

Pictures from Tales of Anime added to the Me as Vergil section of the Photos page.

So, like, I'm obsessed with Dan right now, cause he's AWESOME!! *_* Trying to find movies with him to watch. Rented House of the Dead 2, and while I figured he'd die, I hoped he'd survive for longer than 20 minutes and maybe be a prominent side character. Well, at least he got to talk and actually fought a zombie hand to hand... that was a baaad idea, by the way. Damnit, Dan, why'd you have to go and get bitten by a zombie. ~_~x So now I'm looking for Power Rangers Time Force! I went on Youtube and searched for Dan Southworth... and my camera blooper with him is like the 4th result down! O.o;; So maybe, if Dan ever looks for himself on Youtube, he'll see that and think "hey, I remember her! that's the crazy chick that tried to kiss Reuben!"

March 2007

NEWS   03/30/07

A new section has been added to the Ichigo Trinity shrine: Reincarnation! It isn't exactly coherent right now as I am still sorting through the recent developments in my head, but it's a start.

NEWS   03/28/07

OMG, so I was obsessively re-reading Ichigo's fight with Hollow Ichigo during his Vaizard training (while listening to T.I.'s "What You Know About That", which is very fitting for Hollow Ichigo), and I do believe I stumbled upon near-solid proof that Ichigo had an in-dwelling Hollow before the Shatter Shaft trial in the pit. Updates on that in the In-Dwelling Hollow section of the Ichigo Trinity shrine! Ichigo being Kaien's reincarnation is hanging on a very thin limb right now given chapter 268 (more on that later), but frankly, I don't need Kaien to justify Ichigo's power anymore. It would be nice and romantic and karmically relevant for me, but Kaien is no longer a pre-requisite for proving Ichigo's inner Hollow... whew!

NEWS   03/26/07

The Movies page in the Blood Fetish Dante (and Vergil >_>) shrine has been updated with a link to the trailer for the Devil May Cry anime!! AAAARGHH June just can't come fast enough!! >.<

NEWS   03/25/07

The inevitable byproduct of any obsession, a new music video: Strong Enough! It it my long overdue tribute to Ichigo and the Soul Society arc. I'm very happy with it. ^____^

NEWS   03/22/07

The Aaroniiro Aluluerie section of the Ichigo Trinity shrine has been updated with the latest developments in the manga. *twitch* The countdown on the Beliefs page has been changed to Beltane.

NEWS   03/10/07

The Ichigo Trinity shine got a facelift! The scrolling was getting out of hand, so I organized the essay into more easily accessible/digestible sections that you can click through. I have also updated the Aaroniro Aluluerie section to reflect the latest developments in the manga. The look on his face at the sight of sunlight was priceless! I pointed and laughed at him like a madwoman all morning. ^_^;;

A countdown for Grindhouse has been added to Movie Watch and a review of 300 has been added to New & Now section of the Movies page. Old reviews have been moved to the Store page.

NEWS   03/07/07

Those following the United States manga release might be confused by a key phrase discussed in my Ichigo Trinity shrine. Kaien's "I will stand by you even if I die" is translated as "I'm your friend for life" by Viz Media. It might make more superficial sense, sure, but it misses out on a potentially important undertone. If you read the Japanese chapter 134, the phrase is "Ore wa shin de mo omee no mikata da" - "I am your friend/ally even if I die." Likewise, Ichigo's phrase in the Japanese chapter 152 is "Shin de mo hanasuna yo" - "Don't let go even if you die." I added a note about that in the shrine. I also added a panel all about how Isshin's identity as a Shinigami captain might effect the source of Ichigo's power.

NEWS   03/06/07

Don't think I haven't been keeping a close eye on other developments in Bleach! Yes, I'm talking about Kaien making a comeback in the Manga. The Ichigo Trinity shrine has been updated to cover the story as it unfolds. Exciting times indeed!

NEWS   03/05/07

A countdown for The Invisible has been added to Movie Watch, and reviews for The Number 23 and Zodiac have been added to the New & Now section of the Movies page. Wow, what are the chances of seeing two movies about obsessed people in a row, eh?

In other news, the great Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys List has shifted! This does not happen often, and as such is a noteworthy event. Urahara has been dropped down to Runners Up while Renji takes his rightful place as number 8. This has been a long time coming, but I could no longer deny that I have stronger feelings about Renji than anybody else in the series. That goes for you too, Ichigo, but you're a very special case that isn't affected by my unbridled lust for hot, tattooed, crimson-haired men whose face gets rubbed in their own blood on a regular basis. Be grateful, for Renji is a very formidable rival for my affections!

Yes, for a long time I had held Urahara in the Top 10, telling myself that even though I love Renji more, Urahara is a unique asset to the list whose only flaw is his limited role in the series. Surely we would soon see him kick ass and his true potential as a focus unfold! But that time has yet to come, and while Urahara was out of the picture, Renji has been growing very steadily in appeal until finally, yesterday, the scales have tipped. It was in Chapter 265 of the manga, when Renji is forced to fight a "researcher" who has stripped him of bankai and expressed interest in keeping his soon-to-be-dead body intact. It struck a cord with me and greatly amplified my worry/caring meter. Besides, there's just something incredibly erotic about Renji's body being used for unholy Arrancar experiments. ^.^;; *ahem* To celebrate Renji's ascension, I have updated his profile pictures to his cuddly bankai form.

P.S. The pizza with extra vegan cheese and mock duck was everything I dreamed it would be! *_*

Maybe I'll refine it later. As for myself, I am still very Vegan and loving it. This is definitely the best decision I ever made. I learned how to cook and I never imagined food of any kind could taste so good! I really need to do a Ramblings about Vegan food sometime.

NEWS   01/21/07

The Blood Fetish Dante shrine's Books page has been updated with a review of the Devil May Cry 02 novel (finally), and the Looks page with Dante's character design from the upcoming anime series, and Dante in the Devil May Cry 02 novel. Several movie reviews have been moved from the Movies page to the Reviews/Store page.

NEWS   01/15/07

Uhh... Happy New Year everybody... and Martin Luther King day!!! ^_^;; I know I haven't been updating much lately, but that's because I was working a lot on revamping the Caldora novel and sorting out a few back stories. The changes probably won't show up on the online version, since I'm more concerned with actually publishing the book. I'm even considering taking the whole novel down, or leaving up just the first few chapters.

Anyhow, time for some updates! NEWS   09/27/06

The Lists page in Blood Fetish, my Dante shrine, has been renamed the Dante Diary page and has two new entries: "Nero" and "Devil May Cry 4." The Movies page was updated with a newly released Devil May Cry DVD book: The Trinity of Fates.

NEWS   09/25/06

Once again, a Dante update that deserves a news entry of its own: THERE IS GOING TO BE A DEVIL MAY CRY ANIME!!! *ECSTATIC SCREECHING* CHECK OUT THE OFFICIAL SITE!! IT'S ALL IN JAPANESE BUT YOU CAN CLICK ON A VIDEO ON THE BOTTOM!!! /caps lock off

The Movies section of my Dante shrine, Blood Fetish, has been updated accordingly.

The Devil May Cry 4 site now has a trailer up under Movies. The beard? Still there. Dante with blood on his face? Nothing sexier in all the world! Nero? I @#$% hate him now. How @#$% dare the little @#$% kick Dante in the head?!? Gameplay looks @#$% awesome though.

NEWS   09/12/06

NEWS   09/10/06

A countdown for Eragon added to Movie Watch and a review of The Covenant added to the New & Now section of the Movies page. Since there has been more conclusive news released regarding Devil May Cry 4, his DMC4 profile on the Looks page has been updated. It appears that Dante is not the main character in DMC4 and, to make matters worse, they gave him the shadow of a beard..... I have to admit that I am very traumatized by this information, but I have faith in the Japanese fangirls. Japan will not stand for this atrocity!! A quick review of Code 2: Vergil has been added to the Books page, as well.

And now, behold! More Blood Elf animations: Emotes & Battle, Jokes, and even more Blood Elf male dancing! (complete with oddly homophobic commentary... "Walked a bold androgynous line"? "Less than masculine hairstyles"? Somebody needs to watch more anime)

NEWS   09/05/06

A review for The Illusionist added to the New & Now section of the Movies page.

I'm playing World of Warcraft again. Sometimes. I hope it doesn't get in the way of writing my story... >_> Can't wait for the Burning Crusade expansion, though. I wanna be a Blood Elf!! And with the addition of Blood Elf males, there will finally be something in the game that I can be attracted to! I mean, check out their hairstyles!! (towards the middle of the video) I want to make Keramis, he'd probably look something like this and have a rogue skill set like this. And they dance!

NEWS   09/03/06

A countdown for Stranger Than Fiction added to Movie Watch and a review of The Wicker Man added to the New & Now section of the Movies page. News for the month of August '06 added to the Old News page.

The 1973 Wicker Man is one of my favorite movies. It does not reflect the lifestyle of modern pagans, but I think it is the most accurate portrayal of historic paganism we have on film. Yes, even the occasional human sacrifice. The remake, however, is an insult to paganism both ancient and modern. Paganism deifies nature's cycles of life, death, and rebirth. It celebrates the union between male and female as necessary for the continuation of life. They are equal, and equally divine. The enslavement of males as shown in the remake is neither spiritual nor natural (well, maybe among some insects). It is a breach of harmony between the sexes and an insult to everything the religion stands for.

NEWS   08/07/06

A remodel of the Tak Sakaguchi shrine, with each section having its own page. I also tweaked his biography and added a "people to keep in mind" section to it. Cleaned up a few of the Versus pics. General remodel of the Movies and Anime pages, with most of the lists now having their own page.

NEWS   08/06/06

From the creator of Blood Fetish: Dante & Vergil Shrine I bring you "The Man That Lives In My iPod": Tak Sakaguchi Shrine - with 1,000% more image galleries! The "Drizzt Books" Guide and the Tribute to R. A. Salvatore have been moved from the Books page to Drizzt Do'Urden's Corner, because I figured he has enough material to warrant his own shrine. Thanks to the advent of screencapture, the Top 10 Fight Scenes List now has shots of the actual fights rather than the movie cover art. The countdown on the Beliefs page has been changed to Mabon. NEWS   07/18/06

Top 10 Actors and Top 10 "Foreign" Actors Lists are now up on the Movies page. Tak's fault. Many things I've been doing lately are Tak's fault. It is thanks to my desperation for more Death Trance pics of him that I discovered I am able to take screencaptures off of DVDs. A very dangerous discovery for someone with obsessive tendencies as strong as mine. Well, 250 screencaps of Death Trance later, and after narrowing them down to about 100, I decided to donate them to the best existing Tak Sakaguchi site (Street Fighter) - go check them out in the Gallery! It should be illegal to be that hot, I swear! I do love Tak a lot, so it makes me feel really proud to be credited on a site so dedicated to him. Thank you, Minhea! ^_^

The old movie reviews section has gotten long enough to warrant its own page, and has been moved HERE.

NEWS   07/14/06

OK! Dante shrine is now officially UP! Go HERE, go now! =D

And for those that don't give a damn, here's a review of Click on New & Now of the Movies page. ^^x

NEWS   07/09/06

Got Death Trance in the mail yesterday, but couldn't watch it just yet because I had to go to Convergence right away. So all I could do was unwrap it and hug it thinking to myself "Yay!! It's a... PRETTY BOX!! I LOVE you pretty box!!" Went to convention, liked Anime Detour better. Less people in costume at Convergence and there was a terrible lack of Dante. Got some pizza on my way home so I could relax and watch the movie.

Watched Death Trance..... And since I didn't think I would need to take any precautions in easing myself into it, I got slammed with the worst case of sensory overload in a long time... probably ever. I like blood. I like pretty things. I like blood on pretty things. It's fairly simple to make me happy in that respect. But this? Damn... My brain went completely haywire, I swear the neurons were shooting sparks, and I had to actually bite my hand to keep myself from running up a wall. It was pretty bad. I had to take several breaks to calm down. Tak Sakaguchi officially the prettiest human alive. No contest. None...

*Ahem* My Top 10 "Foreign" Movies and Top 10 Fight Scenes lists have been updated accordingly. If it were not for the abrupt/cliffhanger ending, Death Trance would easily drop Battle Royale from #1. If there is ever a sequel, I'm sure it will...

NEWS   07/07/06

A countdown for Fearless has been added to Movie Watch, a review for Pirates of the Caribbean 2 has been added to New & Now, and the review for The Matador has been moved down to the Reviews section of the Movies page. The news for the month of June '06 has been moved to the Old News page. I know I've promised to have some new Wallpapers up sometime soon, but alas I have been preoccupied with my Dante obsession... I wanted to build him a little internet shrine, but it has since developed into a rather large sub website of its own... O.o;; I will officially link it sometime very soon (hopefully within the next week), but anyone clever enough to figure out its address is welcome to observe updates as they develop.

Also, Taku Sakaguchi is really hot and I want to watch Death Trance... NOW.

A countdown for Lady in the Water added to Movie Watch, a review for Superman Returns added to New & Now, and a few movies moved to the Reviews section of the Movies page.

NEWS   06/21/06

!!HAPPY MIDSUMMER!! The Top 5 Superhero Guys List is finally up on the Books page, as well as the You Might Be Obsessed With Wolverine If... list. I wish I could've written more about Wolverine, there's so much to him! The Anime Wolverine sketch is now up in Fan Art. I've linked to it before, but I figured I should officially put it on there. A review for The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift has been added to the New & Now section of the Movies page. The countdown on the Beliefs page has been switched from Midsummer to Lughnasadh.

NEWS   06/18/06

!!HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!! A countdown for Snakes on a Plane(!!) added to Movie Watch, and the Reviews section of the Movies page now has a new layout (it was a lot harder than it looks). A few new Devil May Cry fan sites added to the Single Player Games section of the Links page. Devil May Cry series moved to #1 of the Top 10 Games List. Due to its size, the Honorable Mentions list has been given its own page.

My perpetual Dante obsession is now definitely dominating Wolverine. But judging by the fact that I paid a co-worker $5 for a Wolverine pin I didn't want for free 2 months ago, Wolvie's still going strong. A less worthy focus would've been entirely eclipsed by now.

NEWS   06/13/06

The Pink Panther review moved to the Reviews section of the Movies page. New ramblings added: Obsession Is A Beautiful Thing, because I figured Wolverine deserved some kind of recognition before I figure out what list I can put him on.

Incidentally, June 11 2006 marks the day that I officially named Dante from Devil May Cry my favorite character. Not only because this was obvious to everyone besides me, but also because he was the only one able to instantly disrupt my Wolverine obsession. You see, I've been waiting for the Devil May Cry novel to be released for a while now, and have been keep track of it on Amazon.com. However, I went to a graduation party this weekend and one of my friends already had it... in her hands... showing it off to me... I was absolutely flabbergasted and vowed to order it right away. But when I came home and went to Amazon, it still said it had not been released. Now, it takes a lot to get me out of the house again after I just got home from a draining social gathering, but such is the lure of Dante. I rushed out to several stores right away until I found it.

I was actively focusing on Dante now, and was very concerned about how this would affect my Wolverine obsession. Already I could feel it slipping away from me, overwhelmed by Dante's undeniable power. This is the first time another focus has managed to usurp the reigning obsession's time of peak intensity. Normally an obsession is not interrupted until it has run its full, natural course. But on my way back from the book store, through the mall, I was passing a Hot Topic and thought to myself "hey, X3 is out, maybe they'll have some overpriced Wolverine T-shirts" and they did. Walking further, I passed an EB Games and thought to myself "hey, maybe they'll have a random used X-men game for real cheap," and they did. So, for the time being, I am hoping that Dante and Wolverine can co-exist in harmony. After all, I like them for the same reasons: they bleed, they heal, repeat.

NEWS   06/08/06

Added crown awards to the "Key Traits" rating system for all the Anime, Books, and Games pages.

NEWS   06/07/06

A countdown for Clerks 2 has been added to Movie Watch, a review for The Omen has been added to New & Now, and a few movies have been moved to the Reviews section of the Movies page. A brand new "Key Traits" rating system has been added to the character lists on the Anime, Books, and Games pages! News from the month of May '06 has been moved to the Old News page.

My Wolverine phase has officially progressed from "I like Wolverine's claws!" to "I WANT WOLVERINE'S CLAWS!! (surgically implanted into my arms, with possibly some silicone-rubber tubing through my hands for painless retraction)" I've seen X3 five times now and have bought $200 ($350+ retail, but thankfully I never buy retail) worth of Wolverine comics and cartoons, including Wolverine: Origins & Endings, Wolverine: Enemy of the State volumes 1 and 2, Best of Wolverine volume 1, and all of the Ultimate X-Men in existence. *sigh* Obsession is a beautiful thing.....

It also helps that I have the amazing ability to like a character not for who they are, but for who I want them to be. ^_^;; Now, this only happens in instances of severe visual trauma, such as the case of comic book Wolverine (praise the gods for movie-Wolverine!). So, the way I see it, Wolverine isn't about the yellow tights, the hairy muscles, smoking cigars, or saying "bub"... No! The essence of Wolverine is his claws, his powers, his attitude, his angst... and so long as I hone in on that, I can superimpose THIS onto him and be happy. *_*

May 2006

NEWS   05/30/06

Countdowns for The Omen and The Fast and the Furious 3 added to Movie Watch, reviews for X-men: The Last Stand, The Da Vinci Code, Mission Impossible 3, and RV added to New & Now, and a few movies moved down to the Reviews section of the Movies page.

Just got back from vacation in Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. Went hiking in Canyonlands, camping on the bottom of Canyon de Chelly, visited all the places the first few minutes of Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade was shot in Arches, saw Jerry Seinfeld LIVE in VEGAS!! I was in the fourth row which means he saw me, which makes it that much more meaningful. It shouldn't take me too long to sort through the photos from the trip and put up some more Wallpapers.

I really enjoyed X-men 3. I saw it midnight opening day (and again on Sunday) and have been re-watching the first two movies every day ever since. You could say I'm going through a mini Wolverine phase right now, which is amusing because I'm not normally attracted to grouchy, hairy men. Wolverine is a perfect example of point #5 in my What I Look For In Anime/Manga Guys List: "It's not that I like to see my favorite characters hurt, it's that I like to worry about them when they do. It creates an intense high that amplifies my caring about a character tenfold, and has been known to elevate otherwise negligible characters to the level of a focus." Granted, movie Wolverine is toned down from the comic book Wolverine, and Hugh Jackman isn't too hard on the eyes to begin with.

In other news, I hear SASUKE is back in the NARUTO manga - and he brought a katana! This should go a long way towards securing his already entrenched place on my Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys List whenever I get around to reading the new chapters. If he manages to kill Naruto it may even shoot him up a few ranks.

NEWS   05/10/06

The Wallpapers section of the Art pages has been organized into categories and 7 new wallpapers have been added from my trip to Oregon: Rocky Coast (Oceans), Boulders & Rapids (Water), Top of Waterfall, Cliffside Waterfall, Impact Point (Waterfalls), Mossy Woods, and Woodland Rapids (Woodlands). I'm going to the southwest next week so hopefully more will be added to the Canyons and Deserts categories soon.

The Sabbat countdown on the Beliefs page has been changed to Midsummer. News from April '06 has been moved to the Old News page.

April 2006

NEWS   04/22/06

A countdown for Apocalypto added to Movie Watch and reviews for Thank You For Smoking and Silent Hill added to the New & Now section of the Movies page.

Yeah, Silent Hill is something else. Freaky as all Hell. I almost feel like the world has entered a new dimension since it came out... The best part is I got to drive through thick fog on my way home, and I laughed. A pathetic, whimpering laugh, but a laugh nonetheless. I loved the movie because the darkness they portrayed, brutal and harsh though it was, is close to my own view of (the non-existence of) "evil." For all things there is a reason and all things have an intelligence that can be reasoned with.

NEWS   04/20/06

A new page, Videos, added to the Fun Stuff area! Finally, a way to post my videos right on my site without redirecting people to register at Anime Music Videos and not killing my bandwith! I've known about YouTube for a while, but it never quite clicked with me to try this. Now I finally got an account there and logged on... only to realize random people already posted some of my music videos on there O.o Thanks, guys!! =D Anyway, I added those that weren't posted and used YouTube's codes to embed them on my page. I also kept the links to where they are posted on AMV for those that want a higher resolution version. The Site Map has been updated accordingly.

I've also been DMC-ing up my MySpace site. I typically hate MySpace, but it's a way to keep in touch with my out of state friends and right now I have to admit I am having fun with it... especially with embedding tacky videos and songs on there!! :P

NEWS   04/18/06

New (and very late) Ramblings regarding my Vergil cosplay adventures at Anime Detour 2006 added: Mission Accomplished!

NEWS   04/16/06

Reviews for Scary Movie 4, Stay Alive, and Inside Man added to the New & Now section, and a few movies moved down to the Reviews section of the Movies page.

Oh yeah, and the Guestbook kind of self-destructed for a reason I still don't comprehend, but I restarted it...

NEWS   04/14/06

I finished my Lucifer video!! That's right, Lucifer, 6th rank on the Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys List, now has his own music video tribute!! ^_^

This video has been months in the making... Off and on, not continuously, but still!! After scouring 20 volumes of Angel Sanctuary manga for every scrap of Kira, Nanatsusaya and Lucifer pictures I could find, compiling the images, editing out non-relevant text, finding near-identical images to switch between, coming up with a concept, I finally got to make the video itself! Most of it is a slideshow of pretty pictures compounded with a quadruple layer blitzkrieg of effects.

And by quadruple layer blitzkrieg of effects I mean... this is what a normal music video looks like ("VERSUS - Renji, Zaraki, Byakuya"), and this is a music video on CRACK ("Lucifer - In His Head"). Not necessarily better, just very very painful and mind-boggling...

It's set to one of my favorite songs of all time "In My Head" by Pale 3 since, well, there's a lot of stuff going on in his head. The song sounds monotone at first but there is a diversity of subtle rhythms and beats in it like you wouldn't believe! I figured it fit Lucifer, especially the lyrics "listen to the mission in my head."

I am very happy it's done X_x

NEWS   04/01/06

It's been a long time coming (I wanted it to go live on January 1st >_>), but the Best of the Best All-Stars List of the top 5 characters from anime, manga, games, and books is now up on the Fun Stuff page. Basically it's my excuse to give my favorite characters bigger pictures. o.o The Favorite Pairings List has also been moved from the Anime page to the Fun Stuff page because it included characters outside of anime. These lists are not for the homophobic or the sane. You have been warned.

The countdown for the next Sabbat has been changed to Beltane on the Beliefs page (now counting down to the right year!) and news from March '06 has been moved to the Old News page.

Also, I'm not obsessed with Dante anymore..... BWAHAHAHA....... April Fools! >_>;;; I have, however, bought Residen Evil 4 after watching this video, so Leon might make it to my Top 5 Game Guys List if I ever get past the first village of diseased humans.

A countdown for Silent Hill was added to Movie Watch, reviews of V for Vendetta, Failure to Launch, and The Hills Have Eyes have been added to the New & Now section, and a movie moved to the Reviews section of the Movies page.

Besides that, I'm very busy working day and night on my Vergil cosplay for Anime Detour. The plan is to go dressed as Vergil, find someone dressed as Dante, and kiss them... thereby fulfilling my dream of kissing Dante - as his twin brother Vergil! It's brilliant!! (hooray for twinscest ^^;;)

NEWS   03/09/06

OK, for those that don't like N'Sync, there is now a short music video of the final battle in Devil May Cry 3 set to the last half of the song "Dawn of Victory" by Rhapsody. This scores Dante four projects that were inspired by him, tying him with the top two on my Top "10" Anime/Manga Guys List. Very impressive indeed, congrats Dante!!

A review of Ultraviolet has been added to the New & Now section, and a few movies moved to the Reviews section of the Movies page.

NEWS   03/07/06

*Siiiiiigh* So ok, for several months now I've been nursing the idea to do a Devil May Cry 3 music video set to the song "Bye, Bye, Bye" by N'Sync. Because 1) I find disturbing imagery set to happy music amusing. 2) I think the song actually fits Dante and Vergil's relationship pretty well, and has the bonus of casting yaoi undertones. 3) I LIKE THE SONG, DAMNIT..... there, I admit it!! Anyway, I had almost given up this dream, since I could not find DMC3 cinematic footage to work with, but after finding The Devil's Lair, this video became possible and I am so, SO HAPPY!! ;_; If you don't believe it can be done, I dare you to watch it!

NEWS   02/22/06

For the poor souls who are not aware of this, a Special Edition of Devil May Cry 3 is now out (and has been taking up much of my time). Last weekend my friends and I ordered pizza and watched all the cinematics of DMC3 in one long beautiful movie. My life is now complete...

Ikari Gendou and Nagisa Kaworu added to the Honorable Mentions list on the Anime page. (Ishida and Ukitake taken down)

NEWS   12/16/05

For the record, I did go see King Kong the day it came out. I work at the movie theater, though, so I was afraid they'd see me and say "if you got time to watch Kong, you got time to clean Kong!" But thankfully they didn't... ^_^

A countdown for Pirates of the Caribbean 2 added to Movie Watch, a review of King Kong (finally) added to New & Now, and the review of Fantastic Four moves to the Reviews section of the Movies page.

NEWS   12/10/05

A review of Narnia added to the New & Now section, and a countdown for X-men 3 added to the Movie Watch section of the Movies page.

I got to see Narnia today and it was so, so wonderful. I had high expectations for it, but it still surpassed them. The fight scenes were spectacular, and the Top 10 Fight Scenes List has been updated accordingly! I saw it right before my movie theater shift, and while sweeping outside its auditorium later it was amusing to see the many adults and kids going for bathroom breaks. The adults were literally running back to the movie as unabashedly as the kids. Hopefully some of the more extremist Christians will stop whining about Harry Potter now that there's a Christian fantasy movie out.

(later that day)

OK, saw Narnia again. I may have overreacted, hehe. I mean, the movie is still awesome and the White Witch is still the most badass female I ever seen (especially dressed up in that Aslan getup), but she didn't get enough screentime in the final battle! So, upon further consideration, when compared to Lord of the Rings' final battle, Narnia loses out. Therefore, it has been replaced by Return of the King on the Top 10 Fight Scenes List

NEWS   12/08/05

A review of Aeon Flux added to the New & Now section of the Movies page. Shinji added to the People I Just Plain Hate List on the Anime page... it's about time.

NEWS   12/05/05

The Links and Art pages have been resized to make them more friendly to lower resolutions, and there is now a black backing to most loose text to make it easier to read against the twinkling stars.

Also, here's me as a South Park character thanks to this nifty generator!

NEWS   12/04/05

Tribute to R. A. Salvatore - King of Action added to the Books page. You know, I discovered today that if you image google r a salvatore a picture of me getting The Thousand Orcs signed is on the first page. That's kinda awesome and kinda embarrassing at the same time, considering which picture it is. Pretty funny either way, though. The lower portions of the Anime and Books have been resized to give some sanity to those viewing this site at a lower resolution.

NEWS   12/03/05

Obsesssion... no longer just a perfume... In more celebration of one of my favorite books (Homeland by R.A. Salvatore) being released in graphic novel form, a semi-chronological "Drizzt Books" Guide has been added to the Books page (because there aren't enough such lists out there already). Also, Jarlaxle x Artemis have been added to Favorite Pairings List in the Anime section. A countdown for the New World has been added to the Movie Watch section and the reviews for Mr. & Mrs. Smith and March of the Penguins were moved to the Reviews section of the Movies page. News for the month of November '05 has been moved to the Old News page.

Also, to promote traffic retention and easier navigation, this main page was moved to the root address of my website. The star graphic in the upper left corner now has the text "HOME" on it to make it easier for those stumbling upon my sub pages to find their way here.

But the most important update for today is that my joint project with my friend Ashvolt (Cheeseball & Sugarcube) is finally done!! We have been working on it for 2 and a half weeks, battling a highly uncooperative video editing program every step of the way. It is a music video of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children set to "Mitternacht" by E Nomine, a song I have been dying to make a music video with for years. It is called "Jenova's Legacy" and is available for download at www.animemusicvideos.org (membership is free).

NEWS   10/05/05

The Movies page is updated and live! I repeat, the Movies page is no longer dead!! New countdowns and reviews have been added, and old reviews moved to their appropriate place. If some of the comments seem uninspired it is because the reviews were kind of rushed I don't remember detailed opinions on some of the movies and it's a damn pain as it is there were so many of them. Please have pity on this half-assed attempt to get the page up and running again... ^_^;;;

The countdown on the Beliefs page has been changed to Samhain, and news for September '05 has been moved to the Old News page.

Well, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is out, and it kicks an incredible amount of ass *_* (and I'm sure it would kick more ass if I actually played the game >_>) so my Top 6 Anime Movies List has been updated. Cloud vs Sephiroth... wow... just wow. Stare and gape and drool and wow. O.O *can't get Sephiroth theme out of my head*

The Top 10 Anime List has been changed to include manga, and expanded with descriptions on the Anime page.

Well, since my Anime page seems to be attracting the most traffic to the site, I decided to give it a gigantic upgrade:

Top 10 Anime List - changed!
Top 10 Anime/Manga Guys List
- changed! expanded! explained!
Top 5 Anime/Manga Girls List - changed and expanded!
Top 5 Anime Movies List added!
What I Look For In Anime/Manga Guys list added!
Runners Up list added!
Honorable Mentions list added complete with nifty rating system!
Top 7 Anime/Manga Villains List added!
Favorite Pairings List added!

All with mouseover goodness. Kurama & Hiei-related Ramblings added entitled You Are the Weakest Link, Goodbye!

On the downside, the option to comment on drawings in the Art sections has been taken down due to spam-bot issues that were freezing my (and yours, I'm sure) Internet Explorer. Thank you to everyone who were kind enough to comment, and you can still do so through my e-mail. ^_^

Wonder of wonders! The Full Moon script is now up on the Ritual page in Beliefs! Dante still hot as all Hell.

NEWS   07/22/05

!!Happy Full Moon!! (and it's at a perigee, too) I have taken a brief brake from playing Devil May Cry 3, which is the best console game ever, to put up a New Moon script on the Ritual page in Beliefs. Why put up a New Moon script on the Full Moon? Why not update the horridly behind Movies page? I don't know. All I know is that Dante is so hot right now...

NEWS   07/02/05

Nature photos from Hawaii are now up in the Wallpapers section (maybe I should organize it one day). Me In Hawaii section has been added to the Photos page, as well as a Me In The Northern Great Plains section which contains mostly pictures from that area that used to be stashed in Miscellaneous plus 3 new pictures of me at Wounded Knee, Crazy Horse Memorial, and the Badlands. A poem Road Less Traveled added to the Poems page. The sole news entry for June has been moved to the Old News page. :P

NEWS   06/29/05

Just got back from trip to the southwest where I was invited to San Juan Pueblo's Feast Day! While there I also got to visit Chaco Canyon, Canyon de Chelly, Monument Valley, and finally got to go camping. Long story short, it gave me a lot to think about. My kitty really didn't want me to leave. She knows what a suitcase means and started attacking it the moment I brought it out. Eventually she realized it wasn't going away so she tried to neatly place herself inside it instead. A picture of her in my suitcase has been added to the Kitty page.

Yes, I know the Movies page is horribly behind and I have no excuse for that, but at least there's new photos in the Wallpapers section now! A Me In The Southwest section has been added to the Photos page. I'm planning to go through my Hawaii photo album too, so hopefully there'll be some updates with tropical pictures sometime in the near future. The countdown in the Beliefs section has been switched to Lughnasadh. The news from May 2005 has been moved to the Old News page.

May 2005

NEWS   05/20/05

A rather large and graphic-intensive essay about Kurosaki Ichigo, complete with blatant spoilers, added: "I'll Stand By You Even If I Die": Unraveling the Mystery of Ichigo's Enormous Power. Slayers' rank as #1 on Top 10 Anime List under official but not immanent threat.

NEWS   05/05/05

neiru2012 (9:51:45 PM): omg, Ichigo just got my favorite ability
neiru2012 (10:28:21 PM): make that both my favorite abilities O.o
neiru2012 (10:30:02 PM): I saw that one coming, but thought it'd be too good to be true
neiru2012 (10:51:28 PM): ............I'm not sure what to do about that

Mmm... so who didn't see this coming? (besides me) Yes, this is the huge Kurosaki Ichigo update; a cataclysmic upheaval of my Top 10 Anime Guys list unprecedented for a decade. This is a big deal. So big there is even a blog in my Ramblings section about it. The series Bleach has changed my life (dramatic, but true :P), it inspired me to draw again in over a year, and that is truly a significant feat. A new drawing has been added to the Fan Art section, "Strong Enough" and its close up "Strong Enough (Ichigo close up)." For this and for being who he is, Ichigo now occupies #0 on The List, overshadowing all. He has transcended the list, bypassed the mandatory waiting period as effortlessly as he challenges the assumed limitations of reality in his own world. I started out determined to hate him, yet he has proved to be everything I want out of a character and only keeps getting better. I surrender. I see a lot of myself in him. The long-suffering Soujirou has been restored his rank as #4 and Urahara Kisuke steps in to take 5th place. Urahara Kisuke... another amazing character... perhaps closer to myself than any other. And now I am off to Hawaii for a couple of weeks (will hopefully take lots of pics for the Wallpaper section)... Aloha!

NEWS   05/01/05

!!!Happy Beltane!!! I give up, Kurosaki Ichigo moves to #4 on the Top 10 Anime Guys list and Bleach moves up in the Top 10 Anime list. O.o;; Also, Dante takes his rightful place as #1 on my Top 5 Game Guys list. I mean, really, the only thing that was holding him back is that you couldn't play him in a vs fighting game, but now there is a huge likelihood he will be playable in Soul Calibur 3! *drool* Countdown in the Beliefs section has been changed from Beltane to Midsummer. April '05 news has been moved to the Old News section.

NEWS   12/28/04

A review for The Life Aquatic has been added to the New & Now section of the Movies page. World of Warcraft has been added to the Top 10 Games list in the Games page.

NEWS   12/27/04

Hellu, ahehehehe... no updates in a while, huh? You see, I've been sucked into the blissful black hole known as World of Warcraft. I'm playing a night elf rogue on a PvP server, whee! >^_^< It is so, so much fun! I'm very impressed. And to think I almost got stuck on EverChore 2's pointless leveling treadmill. The mere thought alone makes me nauseous, knowing what I now know about WoW.

Anyways, I finally got some updates! (and my internet being down for most of the day preventing me from playing WoW had nothing to do with it, I swear :P) The countdowns for House of Flying Daggers and Life Aquatic were taken down, replaced by ones for Elektra, Hitch, The Ring 2, and Star Wars: Episode III. Reviews of Blade 3, Ocean's 12, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Meet the Fockers, and Finding Neverland have been added to the New & Now section of the Movies page. The reviews for Anchorman, Collateral, Dodgeball, Hero, I Robot, King Arthur, Manchurian Candidate, Resident Evil Apocalypse, Shaun of the Dead, Spiderman 2, and Two Brothers have been moved to the Reviews section. The countdown for Yule has been replaced by one for Imbolc on the Beliefs page. The news from the month of November '04 has been moved to the Old News page.

So yeah, apparently the last forums update made them so much better and safer that nobody can log into them anymore. ^_^;; I am aware of this, but the problem is very bizarre and I don't know how to fix it *and* keep the data (posts, profiles) from the old forums yet. I'm working on it... sort of. =/ I figure people can e-mail me if they want to talk or ask something for now. ^_^;;;

Anita Lee's Award of Excellence has been added to the Awards page.

A review for Seed of Chucky has been added to the New & Now section of the Movies page.

Well, I got EverQuest 2, now I just need a computer that can play it! I'm currently playing it on a laptop that doesn't even fit the minimum requirements, and the performance really, really sucks. The game itself, though, is a vast improvement over the original and I daresay I am rather happy with it thus far.

NEWS   11/09/04

A review for I Heart Huckabees has been added to the New & Now section of the Movies page. The review for The Stepford Wives has been moved to the Reviews section. Yet another shameless parade of prettyboys has been added, this time to the Games page. The Unicorn and the Jorge's Top Fantasy Site Award, as well as Black Triangle UFO Roma's Gold Award and Fantasy Future Award added to the Awards page.

NEWS   11/05/04

Hello, and welcome to the United States of the Christian Theocracy! Maybe I should put up a countdown for WW3 someplace...

Lets seee.... Well, I saw Incredibles, so a review for that is now up in the New & Now section of the Movies page. The reviews for Around the World in 80 Days and Shrek 2 have been moved to the Reviews section. Cheteau de la Mort's Dreamer Award, My World's Wiccan Excellence Award, and Elena's Excellent Fantasy Site Award have been added to the Awards page. The Sabbat countdown on the Beliefs page has been changed from Samhain to Yule.

I finally took pictures of my Halloween ninja outfit so a few of those are now up on the Photos page. It's a real comfy ninjutsu uniform, I even got to drive on the highway in full ninja getup. But before going on the highway I saw I was low on gas and was forced to make a detour. I would've probably gotten myself arrested if I tried paying inside, but I parked at the farthest station and tried to seem as inconspicuous as possible. Cause I was a ninja, and I was hiding, since that's what ninjas do... And it worked out great, because that outfit melts seamlessly into the night shadows.

To celebrate election day, I have posted my Political Alignment in the About ME page. The news for the month of October '04 has been moved to the Old News page.

The Prayer page has been added to the Practice section of the Beliefs page! The Mercuralia ceremony has been added to the Ritual page. Ldy-Icedragon's Most Creative Site Award and Most Mystical Site Award added to the Awards page! =D A Top 10 Fight Scenes list has been added to the Movies page. The review of Dawn of the Dead has been moved to the Reviews section. The Site Map has been updated accordingly.

NEWS   10/24/04

Wowza! The Beliefs page is actually starting to take shape! It was always my plan to start organizing it by Samhain (Halloween) to at least have some ritual scripts up, and I'm happy with myself for sticking to that goal. That's right, the Practice button on the Beliefs page now works, and the beginning of the Ritual page is up. The Site Map has been updated accordingly. It took me a while, but I finally realized that not everyone has the fancy Lucinda Blackletter and Curlz MT fonts that I often use, so links to download them have been added to most of the pages that apply.

NEWS   10/22/04

A review for The Grudge has been added to the New & Now section of the Movies page. The review of Van Helsing has been moved the Reviews section.

NEWS   10/17/04

I finally got to see Shaun of the Dead, so a review for it has been added to the New & Now section of the Movies page. A Top 8 "Foreign" Movies list has also been added to the Movies page, and pretty much consists of Japanese and Chinese movies. The Top 10 Games list has been modified to include not just computer games but also console games. Now excuse me while I try to get the Kung Fu Fighting (those cats were fast as lightning) song out of my head...

NEWS   10/15/04

Welll... I'm kinda obsessed with my new PS2 and Mortal Kombat: Deception right now. A very horrible time to be obsessed now that I'm actually getting pretty good traffic yet not working on the site. But, what can ya do... I just have to let it run its course. ^_^;; I do hope there's still plenty already up on the site to keep everybody entertained. Damn do I love Noob Saibot. As I like to say... I'm married to Noob Saibot, but I'm having an affair with Kilik.

Also, I'm gonna be a ninja for Halloween (shocking revelation, I know)! Sure I could've been cheap and dressed up in all black but nooo, I actually bought an authentic ninjutsu uniform and shoes, plus two Kung Fu fans for weapons (because I doubt they'd let me into Mall of America with a katana). Why use Chinese fans when I'll be a Japanese ninja? Don't ask...

Err, I digress. On to actual news! The countdowns for Taxi and Team America have been taken down and replaced by ones for The House of Flying Daggers and The Life Aquatic. Reviews for Team America and Taxi have been added to the New & Now section of the Movies page. The reviews of Fahrenheit 9/11 and The Day After Tomorrow have been moved to the Reviews section.

NEWS   10/04/04

!!!HAPPY MORTAL KOMBAT: DECEPTION DAY!!! A new section (Me Doing Tai Chi Chuan) was added to the Photos page. Lavenderwater's Magical Website Award for 2004 was added to the Awards page.

NEWS   10/01/04

I was selected as one of the Artists of the Month at World of Froud!! *_* Brian Froud is my favorite artist, so even if he doesn't judge the sites himself, just to appear on his website is such a great honor! You can view the Artist of the Month banner on my Awards page. A review for Shark Tale has been added to the New & Now section of the Movies page. The reviews of Mean Girls and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind have been moved to the Reviews section. The news for the month of September '04 has been moved to the Old News page.

I'm currently obsessed with getting a Playstation 2, so I ordered a used one with a bunch of games off eBay - it better work! I've always wanted to get a PS2 to play SoulCalibur 2, but kept putting it off since I had SoulCalibur for Dreamcast. But Mortal Kombat: Deception is coming out now and this was the last straw. Noob Saibot f0r t3h w1n!!! Or, rather, Noob Smoke now I suppose... O.o I'm also hyper obsessed with ninjas, so I can't wait to play Tenchu 3. I wish I could play Ninja Gaiden but then I'd have to get Xbox... ARGH... And I also really really wanna play Link on SoulCalibur 2, but that's on Gamecube... *bangs head on wall* I guess I'll have to settle for drooling over Red Shadow for the time being.

NEWS   09/19/04

For any reading the APOCALYPSE NOVEL or STORIES, the name of MIRAJE has been changed to LIANNA. Miraje was originally supposed to be some sort of shapeshifter or karaci, but since she's nothing of the sort anymore, that name has no rational significance for her. The name Lianna, however, refers to the fact that she uses a whip as her primary weapon. The character who was supposed to be Miraje will finally reclaim her name and take her place as Karaci's successor. Karaci, by the way, is also possibly due for a name change... but not the karaci themselves. :P On a lesser note, Dinictis's symbolic name of Living Dragon was changed to Order Dragon because, well, that's what she correctly is.

The Art page finally has a formal introduction and explanations of each gallery. The countdown for Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow has been taken down and replaced by one for Taxi. A review of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow was added to the New & Now section of the Movies page.

NEWS   09/17/04

The huge tacky graphic that has been dominating the entrance page is gone! All gone!! It has been replaced with a formal introduction, the fluffy and long-winded prose of which I had to cut down quite a bit because I fear most people don't have that large of an attention span for an opening page (myself included). Much of it will be infiltrated into the introductions of other pages, particularly the Library where people actually go with the intent of reading something.

I'm quite proud of the entrance page, and quite amused that it possibly houses the most advanced coding on this entire site! ^_^;; Of course, the code was not written by me, but rather by my very generous friend Timothy Humphrey, which I adapted to my text. The black hole graphic is also not mine, and taken from this lovely free graphics site, which now has a permanent spot on my ever-growing Links page.

Little Shy's beautiful awards proudly added to the Awards page. There is now a cute little Weather Pixie below my moon phases over to the right. Also, I made some anal-retentive adjustments to fonts throughout the site that nobody will ever notice nor care about. :-P~

NEWS   09/15/04

NEWS   08/06/04

A review for The Manchurian Candidate has been added to the New & Now section of the Movies page.

NEWS   08/03/04

The section for Yugashii is now up on the People page in the Library.

NEWS   08/02/04

A new page has been added! The People page is now up in the Library, and has section for Aloquin and Dinictis thus far. It has some profile pictures of other characters as well, just to give you some idea of how it will be organized, but those will definitely not be the only characters featured on that page. The countdowns for Catwoman and The Village have been taken down and replaced by ones for Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow and Alexander. A review for The Village has been added to the New & Now section of the Movies page. The countdown in the Beliefs section has been changed from Lughnasadh to Mabon. The news for the month of July '04 has been moved to the Old News section. Corresponding changes have been made to the Site Map.

July 2004

NEWS   07/20/04

The countdown for I, Robot has been taken down and replaced by one for Without a Paddle. Reviews for I, Robot and Anchorman have been added to the New & Now section of the Movies page.

NEWS   07/08/04

The countdown for King Arthur has been taken down and replaced by one for Catwoman. A review for King Arthur has been added to the New & Now section of the Movies page. The reviews for Butterfly Effect and Cold Mountain has been moved down to the Reviews section. The news from June has been moved to the Old News section.

Perhaps most importantly, two new Stories have been added: First Universal War and Triple Helix: Star, Planet, and Moon Spirits. I draw Moon Angels a lot, and from time to time I get asked what the hell they are. Well, these two stories are the most straightforward answer to that question. They also explain the roles of Star Angels and Planet Angels. In my attempts to make the story spiritually neutral, I have changed their titles from "angels" to "spirits," but hopefully that won't be too confusing.

NEWS   06/29/04

The countdown for Spiderman 2 has been taken down and replaced by one for I, Robot. I am seriously running out of movies I want to see in the next 3 months. ~_~x A review for Spiderman 2 has been added to the New & Now section of the Movies page. I got to see it early and it kicked major ass, much more ass than I ever expected it to!!

NEWS   06/28/04

Some introductory text and a new story added to the Stories page: Apocalypse VII: Chapters 9 & 10.5.

NEWS   06/26/04

A review for Fahrenheit 9/11 is up in the New & Now section of the Movies page. I also fixed a couple of countdown applets.

NEWS   06/25/04

The countdowns for Fahrenheit 9/11 and Two Brothers have been taken down and replaced by ones for The Village (again) and Hero (nevermind that everybody who cares already seen and/or has it). A review for Two Brothers is up in the New & Now section of the Movies page.

I really should get caught up in my story summaries for Stories section. I already wrote the damn novel (and it is up in the Novels section... hint, hint :P), so I feel it's pretty redundant summarizing it into little stories. But still, somebody who hasn't read or doesn't plan to read the novel should have the entire history of my world available for them in summarized form on the Stories page. But I am so much farther along in my story world now than the Stories section would have you believe. I already have in my head all the major stories that lead to Lossi's destruction. I even have in my head all the major stories that lead to the subsequent world's destruction. So really, I'm on my third world right now. I JUST WISH I COULD WRITE AS FAST AS I THINK!!!

NEWS   06/22/04

A review for The Terminal is up in the New & Now section of the Movies page. The Links page has also been updated, most visibly with the addition of Asian Philosophy & Martial Arts as a subsection of Spiritual links.

NEWS   06/21/04

!!!HAPPY MIDSUMMER!!! The countdown in the Beliefs page has been switched to Lughnasadh. Three new stories added to the Stories page: Apocalypse IV: Chapters 7 & 8.5, Apocalypse V: Guardian Nexus and Raven, and Apocalypse VI: Chapter 8.5. The chapters in the Novels section have been further adjusted for your reading convenience to have "Previous Chapter" and "Next Chapter" links at the top as well as the bottom.

NEWS   06/18/04

OK, The Village has been taken down from the countdown and replaced by Fahrenheit 9/11 on the Movies page, because a film that will discredit the reigning President of the United States is just more important. Reviews for Around the World in 80 Days and Dodgeball have been added to the New & Now section. Enjoy!

NEWS   06/17/04

Your eyes do not deceive you - it is indeed an update! But before I elaborate upon the update, let me introduce you to Specimen A, Specimen B, and Specimen C. Yes, I have been playing the new MMORPG City of Heroes, and my pursuit of more levels and cooler powers is taking time away from working on the site. But I have learned not to fight my obsessions. Instead, I find it is best to indulge them fully and let them burn out on their own.

The countdowns for The Day After Tomorrow and Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban have been finally taken down and replaced by ones for The Village and Alien vs. Predator (I'm rooting for Predator) in the Movies page. Reviews for The Day After Tomorrow, Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban, The Chronicles of Riddick, and The Stepford Wives have been added to the New & Now section. 50 First Dates, Along Came Polly, Big Fish, and Eurotrip have been added to the Reviews section. The news from May has been moved to the Old News page.

NEWS   05/25/04

The Siya Neijar story has been completely redone (now with yaoi! O.o) and split into three parts: Siya Neijar: Shining Flame of Destiny, The Price of Yugashii's Favor, and Seeds of Destruction, which leads into another story several millenia later when he is resurrected by Suknuru as Mahat Neijar and destroys the world XD. A review for Shrek 2 has been added to the New & Now section. In honor of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King coming out on Video and DVD today (GET YOURS NOW!!!), I have added the Movie Reviews section to the Movies page! ^_^

NEWS   05/21/04

The Shrek 2 countdown has been taken down and replaced with a countdown for King Arthur on the Movies page. Also, a review of Troy is up in the New & Now section!

NEWS   05/18/04

New story is up in the Stories section: Siya Neijar: Shining Flame of Destiny. The Anime favorites lists have been slightly rearranged. Soujirou has dropped to #4 while Kurama & Hiei have risen to #3 in the Top 10 Anime Guys list... because the combined power of Kurama and Hiei is enough to topple Soujirou. The Top 3 Anime Girls list has also been updated to Top 5 Anime Girls with the inclusion of Mukuro and Caska. The countdown to Troy has been taken down and replaced by a countdown to Two Brothers on the Movies page.

NEWS   05/10/04

Finished my drawing of Kurama today! (who didn't see that coming?) Truly obsession is my creative muse. You can find it now in the Fan Art page, entitled Youko Guardian. I took down the counter for Van Helsing on the Movies page, and added one for Spiderman 2. Also, reviews for Mean Girls and Van Helsing are up in the New & Now section.

NEWS   05/05/04

!!!Happy Full Moon!!! ^_^ So many holidays this week: Beltane, Hermes' birthday, Full Moon... Yes, yes, I haven't updated in a while... ^_^;; Between Tai Chi Chuan classes, work, Tarot, and being completely obsessed with Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho (WHY CAN'T HE BE REAL?!?), I've been trying to get myself to draw. Most immanently, I am trying to draw my own Tarot cards again, starting with the Empress. Spring is here and things are green again, so my creative juices should be waking up again. A review of Godsend is up in the New & Now section of the Movies page! The news for the month of April have been moved to the Old News section.

NEWS   04/16/04

The countdown to Kill Bill Vol. 2 has been taken down from the Movies page, replaced by a countdown to The Day After Tomorrow. Reviews are posted for the movies Kill Bill Vol. 2, The Whole Ten Yards, and The Girl Next Door in the New & Now section.

NEWS   04/13/04

One new Story added: Apocalypse II: Chapters 5 & 6.

NEWS   04/12/04

One new Story added: Apocalypse II: Chapters 3 & 4.

NEWS   04/02/04

One new Story added: Apocalypse I: Chapters 1 & 2. A review of Hellboy is now up in the New & Now section of the Movies page. The countdown for Hellboy has been taken down, and replaced by a countdown for Shrek 2. The news for the month of March has been moved to the Old News page. Some may have noticed that the frequency of new stuff being added has gone down. This is in part due to the fact that I am actually working on fresh information, not just stuff I can copy-paste onto the site, and partly due to the fact that I'm researching the philosophies and applications of various martial arts, and where I can take classes in them. Can't wait! ^_^

March 2004

NEWS   03/26/04

A review of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is up in the New & Now section of the Movies page. Sadly, Sesshomaru has dropped off my Top 10 Anime Guys list on the Anime page, and has been replaced by Manji! Manji should've been up there in the first place, how could I ever forget Manji?? *lowers head in shame*

NEWS   03/19/04

A review of Dawn of the Dead is up in the New & Now section of the Movies page. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind countdown has been taken down, and a new countdown for Harry Potter: Prizoner of Azkaban is up in the Movie Watch section.

NEWS   03/17/04

Added my review of Starsky & Hutch to the New & Now section of the Movies page.

NEWS   03/16/04

For those wondering why so few updates, it's because I was working on a new PICTURE!! Writing those little story summaries about Raven has inspired me to draw him again, although the drawing takes place way after the story summaries or the Apocalypse novel. So feast your eyes on Raven Dual Wielding in the Fantasy Art section!

NEWS   03/10/04

Three new Stories added: Raven, Blood and Fire, Raven-Kranti War. Now the world history is finally up to the point of the Apocalypse novel! New countdown up on Movies page for Troy. In other news, I want to learn Kung-Fu...

NEWS   03/05/04

One new Story added: Kayintas.

NEWS   03/04/04

Three new Stories added: Troubled Times, Keramis and the Ogre, and Keramis Earns 5th Rank. Also, Mad, Mad House premiers today on the Sci Fi Channel, so I took off its countdown from the Television page. Don't forget to watch it!

NEWS   03/02/04

Two new Stories added: Acora Lynn and Earth Dragon Embryo.

NEWS   03/01/04

The results are in and it's a clean sweet for Lord of the Rings as they won all 11 academy awards that they were nominated for! Sean Penn won Best Actor, but I guess that's ok, he deserves it as much as Johnny Depp. Two new Stories are up today: Tshushani and Nexus. February 2004 news has been moved to Old News.

Also, it's my spirit brother's birthday today! Happy Birthday ^_^

February 2004

NEWS   02/29/04

!!!Happy OSCARS day!!! The most anticipated television event of the year as far as I'm concerned. If I didn't say this enough, I'm rooting for Johnny Depp and Lord of the Rings. The Oscars countdown on the Television page has been removed. Other than that, I'm still obsessed with Asian cinema. In the past week I have watched Battle Royale, Battle Royale 2, Tomie, Suicide Club, Ichi the Killer, Versus, and Returner. Up next on the watch list are Princess Blade and Azumi. Basically, if it's in Japanese, I'll watch it! I also finally got to see Hero, the much-acclaimed Hong Kong movie starring Jet Li. It's much better than Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but I hated CTHD. Iron Monkey still funnest Hong Kong movie!

NEWS   02/25/04

!!!Happy The Passion Of The Christ day!!! That's right, the movie's finally out - sold out, that is. Yes, the Christians are going to see it in hordes and I hear there's a theater in Dallas that's playing it on all its screens! It certainly lives up to the hype, although I wouldn't call it anti-Semitic. Either way, there's a review of The Passion of the Christ and Eurotrip now up in the New & Now section of the Movies page, and a countdown for Van Helsing in Movie Watch. The Ramblings page is now up, featuring the first of my rants: Christians Blaming Jews.

NEWS   02/24/04

I totally forgot to mention yesterday... but Johnny Depp won the Screen Actors Guild award for Pirates of the Caribbean!! ^^;; *feels mortified at such an extreme degree of negligence* (And, of course, Lord of the Rings won best cast, but who didn't see that coming?)

Three new Stories added: Aramil Coast, The Dark Sun, and Aramil Empire!

NEWS   02/23/04

Wanderings of Siyanna added to the Stories page.

NEWS   02/20/04

!!!HAPPY NEW MOON!!! Two new Stories added today: The Great Abomination and Suknuru Comes to the Annukai. If you've been wondering why no updates past few days, it's cause I've been (and still am) deeply obsessed with the movie Battle Royale, and the actors Tatsuya Fujiwara & Masanobu Ando.

NEWS   02/16/04

I heard some very exciting news today! One of my favorite books, The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub, is finally being turned into a movie! And not just by anyone, mind you. The studios are Universal Pictures and Dreamworks. The producers are Steven Spielberg (!!!) and Kathleen Kennedy. The director is Vadim Perelman and the screenwriter is Ehren Kruger. How could they go wrong?!? (watch them screw up) Well, I am avidly awaiting that movie, and in its honor I have finally put something up on the Books page! and the Games page! and the Music page! A News section was also added to the Movies page!

NEWS   02/15/04

The Site Map page is up as of today. There has also been some minor tweaking and re-organization of links and tables throughout the webpage. You may have noticed that there is now a moon phase tracker both on the main page and in the Beliefs section. I always wanted one of those! ^_^ Since I saw 50 First Dates yesterday, there is now a review of it up on the Movies page.

NEWS   02/14/04

Three new Stories up today: Tashari Empire, Sealing of Aladoon, and Birth of Yugashii. All the stuff up on the Stories page is rough drafts for now, so eventually they'll undergo some changes. But I just want to have them up anyway ^_^;;

NEWS   02/13/04

OK, I lied, the Links page has expanded again. The areas most affected were the Spiritual and Games sections. I love my Links page, it is a work of ART!! A new story, Split of the Sidhe Court, is up on the Stories page. Also, the news from January of 2004 has been moved from this main page to the newly-created Old News section.

NEWS   02/12/04

The new, improved, and anal-retentively organized Links page is up! Now with more links and an explanation of why some sites have violet text for the degree of on-site background music they have. Yes, it is no longer the WARNINGs system, but a violet text system, since the WARNING system wrongly makes it seem that music is a bad thing. Be assured, this is not the end of the Links page, but you will probably not notice anything terribly drastic happening to it anytime soon. And yes, organizing it took a lot longer than expected... Also, I fixed all the "back to top" links so that they actually take you to the top of the page and not make you reload it. :P

NEWS   02/11/04

I bring you the enhanced Links page - now with banners and descriptions! There are some shortcuts to the categories now, and everything *should* link to a new window, but it's still far from organized. I also put WARNINGs by sites that I know to have on-site music so that you have ample time to plug your ears if you so choose. :P Well, that took a LOT longer than expected. I'm saying that pretty often regarding the website...

NEWS   02/10/04

A rudimentary Links page is up. Eventually the Links page will have short descriptions of the sites, the links will open their own windows, and will hopefully be organized in a more coherent manner. Also, I saw a commercial for an interesting new show premiering in March on the Sci Fi Channel, so it now has a countdown on the Television page. The Forum, Wallpapers and off-site pages (except ones in the Links page) now open their own windows.

NEWS   02/09/04

The beginnings of the Stories page is up! Also, I am going insane. But don't worry, it'll pass o.o;

NEWS   02/07/04

!!!HAPPY FULL MOON!!! The Forum now works! I might be switching to a different message board software sometime, or changing the Forum categories, but still, the Forum now works! Yay! Also, I added more copyright notices and disclaimers.

NEWS   02/05/04

The Fan Art page has been converted to the new title/description/feedback format, as well! Boy does it feel great to get that out of the way.

No matter how lonely we feel when a loved one passes into the Otherworld, we should always remember that they are in a far better place and we should be happy for them. I hope Mirko's feline friend Paavo is happily frolicking with the angels right now.

NEWS   02/04/04

The Sci-Fi Art page has been converted to the new title/description/feedback format! That took a long, long time. Also, Games section has the correct topic circle.

NEWS   02/03/04

A Top 10 List is now up on the Television page. But, most importantly, the Art section will be undergoing the major change I have promised. Each thumbnail will link to a page with a bigger version of the picture, a title, a description, and the option to leave a comment. This feature is already up and running in the Fantasy Art section, and I will be upgrading the other sections very soon.

NEWS   02/02/04

!!!HAPPY IMBOLC!!! Also, happy Groundhog Day. Today my goofing around with animated GIFs came to fruition. I have made the Dancing Yumeni gif and the Flying Yumeni gif. There shall be more to come. As you may have noticed, there are little Yumenis with peace signs welcoming you to Twilight Visions today! I also added correct upper right circles (gah, I'll just call them "topic circles" from now on) to the Music, Television, Fan Art, Fantasy Art, Sci-Fi Art, and Wallpaper pages. Also, a new counter is up for Ostara in the Beliefs section to replace the one for Imbolc.

NEWS   02/01/04

Well, I goofed around with animated gifs today and... well, nothing came of it yet, but I felt you aught to know. :P Top 3 Anime Girls and Anime Smiley Dictionary added to the Anime page.

January 2004

NEWS   01/31/04

Top 10 Anime Guys List added to the Anime page today. That took A LOT longer than I had expected. Sadly, Sasuke is gone from the upper right circle of the anime section, and was replaced by Lina and Gourry. But that's ok, there's bigger pictures of him in the Top 10 Anime Guys List anyway. :P Hidden features have been added to the Anime and Movies pages, and will soon be all over the website.

NEWS   01/30/04

All of the links in Fun Stuff now work! You might notice there is a new button for TV. The Movies page had the New & Now and Top 10 List sections added to it. The Anime page is up and running, with a Top 10 List and a cool Sasuke circle thingie in the corner! Furthermore, after spending lots of time yesterday putting copyright on all the pictures, I spent lots more time today taking it off!

Besides the obvious problem of plastering my real name all over the webpage the day after I took it off About ME, putting text on the image ruins the picture. I instead decided to put the copyright under the pictures when they each get their own individual pages with descriptions, and they will be (c) Yumeni, not the real life name. I figure if people want to steal the pictures, they'll find ways to do it no matter what I do, so no point in being a bitch about it. Also, the page will soon be going live, so it's probably a good idea to start de-potty-mouthing it.

NEWS   01/29/04

Nothing too big happening today. The Kitty section has more pictures, and the Art section has same-page links to the categories now. I have also added name and copyright to all the drawings in the Fantasy and Sci-Fi.

NEWS   01/28/04

Big image day today. The Wallpaper section has been added to Art, featuring scenic panoramas from my various trips. My own wallpaper right now is Dancing Light, go check it out! The Kitty section now has pictures of Angel and other cats I have known. The page that everybody's been bugging me about is up. Yes, the Photos section. I hope you're all satisfied! Lastly, the link to Beliefs section works, although there's barely anything there for now.

Today is my parents' 26th Wedding Anniversary!

NEWS   01/27/04

Well, lets see, what happened today. The About ME page was slightly altered, a picture has been added. The Love Altar has burning candles (yay!). The Movies section in Fun Stuff is active, and already sporting several countdowns! The Poems page has been added to the Library section, complete with same-page links to poems. And, hmm, I guess that's about it! Took a lot longer to do than to say, I'll tell you that much. :P

NEWS   01/26/04

Before I begin, I would like to congratulate Lord of the Rings for winning Best Picture, Best Director, Best Song, and Best Music on the Golden Globes!!! Bring on the Oscars, Mystic River you goin' DOWN!!

OK. I have redone all the mouseovers, and some pages finally have a picture other than the star in the upper right circle the way they're supposed to. Fun Stuff now links to a viewable page. But the grand achievement today is the 4 new pages in About ME!, including Kitty and Soulmate.

In honor of Mirko 'Dzeron' Koponen's best feline-friend (who is very sick right now ~_~), let us all give the cats we know a hug and never miss a chance to show how much we love them!

NEWS   01/25/04

I would like to present Twilight Visions... now with MOUSEOVER! That's right, all the buttons now magickally light up at the touch of your cursor! I also added more buttons that don't lead anywhere (yet). The Art section now has titles under the thumbnails. The background of the text in the Novels section is now black, making it possible to read without getting distracted by the ever-prevalent twinkling stars. But do not fear! You may still gaze at them on either side of the text area. For sake of convenience, links to "Previous Chapter" and "Next Chapter" have been added to the ends of the chapters, as well as a link back to Novels.

If you have not seen Butterfly Effect yet, I pity you...

NEWS   01/24/04

We're starting to see the beginnings of the Art section! Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Fan Art all work and have *gasp!* clickable PICTURES! I worked very hard to do black airbrush around the picture thumbnails so that they blend mystically into the background, and I hope you like it. But I'm far from done with the Art section. Soon the thumbnails will have titles and maybe open separate pages with descriptions of each picture. There'll also be a lot more text explaining why I organized the art the way I did. Mayhaps I should scan more art, too...

Did you see Butterfly Effect yet??

NEWS   01/23/04

The the Novels button is fully functional!! So is the Library button, but there's not much there yet except for the Novels button. :P~ The Art and About ME buttons work, too, but nothin' there yet either. Enjoy!!

In other news, I saw the movie Butterfly Effect, and it was awesome. Seriously, this was the first movie I ever turned to the person next to me and said "damn, this movie's AWESOME!" - several times, no less! Go see it. Now. It blows Donnie Darko out of the water, I shit you not. (No memorable demonic bunnies, tho)
