Sasaki has never met a sword or a woman that he didn't like. He's very good with the ladies, y'see... and children, and horses, and swords... not in the same ways, of course. ^_^; He's very sweet, playful, and innocent unless you point a sword at him. It is very important not to point swords at Sasaki, because he is deaf and mute, so miscommunication can occur. This would most likely result in him cutting you down with that same innocent smile on his face. Sasaki is a natural martial genius who can kill a man with a light tree branch, not to mention a blade. He his lack of hearing with a heightened sense of sight.

The bastard son of a Welsh princess and a Viking lord, Askeladd hates Vikings, and considers them a barbaric scourge on the earth. Even though he passes for one himself, and leads a very successful band of Viking mercenaries, his aim is to secure the safety of his Welsh homeland by placing a worthy Danish King on the throne. He understands that everybody serves a purpose and he knows how to use them towards his ends. A clever trickster and strategic genius, he is an exceptionally good fighter skilled in anticipating his opponent's next move.

Bjorn is part of Askeladd's band and his only true friend. Despite being a Viking, and eventually finding out how Askeladd feels about his kind, Bjorn remains loyal to the end. He is a berserker, and after eating a special mushroom, becomes a bona fide force of nature in battle and oblivious to pain. This doesn't always work in his favor.

Thorfinn is an idiot. A stubborn, bitter, moronic idiot with a one track mind. He has an unquenchable grudge towards Askeladd for killing his father, so what does he do? He joins Askeladd's mercenary band with the expressed purpose of killing him in a fair duel one day! His entire identity becomes centered on revenge, blinding him to the fact that Askeladd grows to be like a second father to him. Ultimately, his chance for revenge is forever taken away from him, and he is left a sad empty shell of a boy. But alas, in a sea of ugly, hairy, muscle-bound Vikings, Thorfinn comes the closest to prettiness besides Canute. Add to this the fact that he's a rabid demon on the battlefield and dual wields knives, and you have an obligatory focus.

Sunako loves the dark, spiders, skeletons, horror movies, and all things scary. She is exceedingly antisocial and typically walks around looking like the girl from The Ring. This is not good news for the four guys paid to try to turn her into a lady. But there is a ray of hope! For underneath all that doom and gloom Sunako is gorgeous and talented.

Ran took on the name of his little sister to proclaim himself an avenger. Aya is the archetype of everything I look for in an anime guy: a skilled, stoic fighter with a dark past and unwavering resolve. He wields my favorite weapon (katana), he's motivated by revenge, and he has no patience for stragglers. He knows that if he wants something done right he has to do it himself and he's not afraid to cast down his humanity or his life to achieve his goal. Indeed, the rest of Weiss can't do crap without him and their enemies know that any chance of success requires isolating him from the rest of the group. On top of that, he's absolutely gorgeous.

A lone wolf (haha... wolf!... get it?) who cares only about finding Paradise and protecting a plant girl named Cheza, and will do it with or without the help of his other canine companions. He's also a white wolf, which makes him special.

Kamui's destiny was to guide the future of Earth by siding with either the Dragons of Heaven (who seek to preserve Earth as it is) or the Dragons of Earth (who seek to save the planet by destroying human civilization). Although he was rather bitter about the whole thing, Kamui finally chose the Dragons of Heaven because he had people he wanted to protect: Kotori, the woman he loved, and her brother Fuuma, who was his best friend. Unfortunately, this triggered the awakening of his Twin Star who, of all people, turned out to be Fuuma. Fuuma's first act as leader of the Dragons of Earth was to kill Kotori while Kamui watched, effectively wiping out both his reasons to protect humanity. Oops.

Withdrawn in a sea of angst, this priest wants nothing but to confront his lover very close friend, Seishirou, about killing his elder sister. Subaru gets a whole episode where he does practically nothing but wander around in circles... because he's just that awesome.

Doomed to know the future and be unable to change it, Kakyou is trapped in his own dreamworld by a coma. This makes him very sad inside.

Hisoka is unusual in that he is a wide-eyed blond who is not cheerful. In fact, he's rather serious and aloof most of the time. This, along with his tendency to get captured and tortured, became solid foundations upon which to build my interest. He has strong empathic abilities, and even though he acts cold, he still cares deeply about Tsuzuki.

For the love of all things good and holy please stay in your teenage form!! I'd say take out your sucker too, but it being a weapon of mass destruction you better keep it where it is.

One of the very few powerful females in Yu Yu Hakusho, Mukuro is one of the three rulers of the demon world known as Makai. She is of the highest power class in the series: S class. Abandoned at a very young age, she has marred her beauty in her pursuit of power and freedom.

Botan is one of the very few anime females who manages to be sweet and cute without being annoying. You gotta respect that. She cares about her friends and has faith in their abilities. She also has blue hair. I like blue hair.
