“Speak cutely and carry a big hammer” seems to be Lavi’s motto. Don’t be fooled by his playful demeanor, though, because despite being comic relief, he packs one hell of a punch! After all, his seal control the forces of nature. Lavi is studying to be a Bookman, a neutral observer/recorder of history, which means he must remain unbiased at all times. He cares too much to truly pull that off, though. He’s also the only person who could call Kanda by his first name (Yuu) and live to tell about it. In fact, they appear to be... friends?? O.o Oh yeah, and Lavi looks hotter with his headband off.

An eccentric genius whose strategic brilliance is only matched by his aura of mystery. Nothing of his past, his name, indeed even if he is one or many, is known. He does not sleep, he does not change clothes, and he does not appear to eat anything except sweets. He will use his feet to do everything if he could help it. L obsessively pursues the case of Kira the psychic killer, even it costs him his life.

Ahhh... the magnetism of sheer personality! I gotta admit I admire ruthless bastards who will get the job done by any means necessary if they believe they are working for the greater good. Gendou is the genius behind the Nerv organization, manipulating his pawns any way he sees fit and killing them at his discretion. Calm and secure in his cold logic, he knows when someone is useful to him and when they are expendable. He shows his softer side only around Rei and his dead wife.

He came, he saw, he pondered the meaning of life, he died! This one-episode wonder has inspired countless yaoi fangirls for years. His presence was mesmerizing, effortlessly stealing every scene. After flirting, bathing, and sleeping with Shinji, he hijacked an Eva unit and gave his newfound friend the ride of his life. What's worse, he mercilessly assaulted poor Shinji with intelligent conversation!

Rei is shy, quiet, and very good at following orders. She is a great Eva pilot. Though she acts socially withdrawn and emotionally numb, she does show some feelings around Gendou.

The dazzling leader of Across, an organization that seeks to rule the world. He is cold, beautiful, and ruthlessly mean to Excel. She loves him anyway, and so do I.

A highly skilled swordsman who wields the power of water, he dominates every fight he's in. Tokiya has a lot going for him: he's got Kurama's looks, Aya's past, and Zelgadis' seiyuu (Midorikawa Hikaru).

What's better than a pyro ninja? A pyro ninja that wields eight legendary flame dragons. Plus he's such a devoted, sweet little pet for his Princess.

Favorite scene: when Recca snaps and goes apeshit on Mokuren, bashing his head in with his own speakers and frying him in a single blast. You go boy O.o;;

The only thing more inspiring than Sousuke's cold logic and unquestioning obedience to orders, is watching it all break down when Kaname is involved. His military mentality when applied to everyday life never ceases to amuse me, and oddly enough, I can relate to it.

My obvious attraction to Weber was because he's the prettiest thing in the show. But what sealed the deal was his "Hi, Japanese pretty girls!" in plain English, followed by broken Japanese for "I am from far, faar country. Will you show me around? I am lost, lost kitten!" in episode 3 of the first season. I'll forgive that he's a sniper.

I kind of treat them as twin aspects of the same person. One is sweet and dreamy, the other psychotic and violent. Best of both worlds.
